this question has been mind blogging. someone mentioned that it will not work if there is no coverage for 3g. suppose i'm using digi, that means entirely all the time i cannot make calls or receive them? cause as you all know, digi only supports gprs

I think what himawari mentioned is the imode and other 3g related functions which requires DOCOMO's network

Ha. Faster faster post pic. most of the 905 phones doesn't produce crystal crisp photos. Well you can say its not well focused. Not to mention they no longer implement CCD sensors into the camera. Now leaving with stock CMOS sensor. which is bad for a 5 mps camera.

I see a shift. Cause most cellular companies have plants in china to speed up production as well as to cut down cost. In addition to protect the interest and technology from plagiarism, then opt off some of the nice feature. further more, if the camera phone were to be able to perform up to par with a digi cam, i think it will threaten the digi cam's market. its part of a strategy. personally i think 905's camera suck big time as most local camera phone can beat it flat. (excluding CS which i have yet seen the performance) so if you're looking for a good camera phone, better look else where. This is more of an entertaining phone or a merely bling bling factor based phone

all 1 seg got antenna, sh905 have touch pad while n905i have joystick pointer. p905, erk none? what spots p905i to catch most people's attention is its game and thin dimension. i think. correct me if i'm wrong

justify on what is problematic? is it easy to get faulty or just incompatible or locked features?

exotic phone primary well as the title states, exotic. just like a zonda. you can't expect it to work like your normal proton saga, good fuel efficiency, cool air con, no overheat in engine, comfortable, etc. its 'exotic' primary for show and for self satisfaction. some features might have an upper hand as compared to conventional phone. its typically design to accommodate the local jap's need and services.

hope you get the idea. cause if you're expecting, hey how come this phone cannot play mp3 or mp3 ringtones, well its their regulation to enforce copyright. it takes alot of work around to by pass the feature and even so there is a limit on ringtone not more than 500kb i think.

My best advice is you should get to know the phone more 1st before purchasing one. cause 2k is not a small figure, i know for you it isn't but for us it is. and if you want something which is exotic and doesn't depreciates fast like nokia, this the perfect candidate.

hope what i've highlight is correct, sifu can correct me if i'm wrong

Seems alot of people are having headaches with p905i. continuous reboot due to phone changing tower signal. any users can confirm that the sim hack doesn't cause such nuisances?

haha should i take it as a compliment?

faster sell off your 903.

well a bit of info, the phone is a super finger print magnet. effects are jaw dropping and the menu needs some familiarizing. Apart from that, I need to have a 2nd phone standby so in the event where there is no coverage and then arrived within coverage district, i will need to boot up the sim card on the backup phone then refit it back to p905i. A bit of pain in the ass but i think thats what all exotics about. No pain no gain. But i'm seriously loving it, haven't really try every thing but still staring at its sexy design

nothing big deal on the freebies just a desktop charger. Cause you know la docomo don't come with charger, seller was kind to include the travel charger while throwing a surprise desktop charger. For me its well worth it considering th good service and discount given. Anyway, should leave the sales things off this thread or else we'll be getting warning from the mod. My guess is its better to go for 911t cause minor problem. Another thing i noticed p905i is a bit scary apart from the casing prone to scratch is the hook. the phone can open side ways like n93 but for n93 its not sturdy as you can still accidentally flip top open after opening the screen sideways. p905i has incorporated a hook and when you try to open normally it will retract the hook from the cover, which i think prone to wear and tear.

I don't like slide phone, and if you ask me to choose between a slide or a candy bar, i'll go for the candy bar cause i'm not really convince on the ribbon's reliability. Flip is my favourite. So no doubt i'll go for any flip phone. N905i was my 1st choice considering its exotic and less people having it. with the neuro pointer, t9 and the yamaha engine, it captured the essence of cellular mobile. But i was really turned down on the screen quality and the thick dimension. Further more, the neuro is pratical if you're surfing. Considering docomo phones cannot access 3g, pretty much i was opt to get a p905i. Not to mentioned the stock was on hand and i can instantly get it without waiting.

For me getting the phone later with unlock or not doesn't matter. hardly heard docomo's phone been unlocked and most people claim softbank works best as compared with docomo. interms of hardware, softbank really insist on quality where else docomo is more of functionality. untill now, i'm still skeptic on the longevity of the battery. Been fiddling around the menu, i was a bit disappointed on the battery consumption. Probably because there wasn't much juice left to play with. Also, you really need a so called adapter to accommodate the rare charger socket design. ultimately everything looks pleasing and appealing for now. What's mind boggling to me currently is on keeping the phone scratch less and fingerprint free

That i think is possible, haven't really tested on the mode as now the phone is charging. But from what i've observed, you can browse around with the phone flipped sideways.

battery wise well not a concern for now, just hope some new improved bypass sim can really reduce the hassle of swapping phone to gain back signal coverage.

oh and p905i is fully loaded with tonnes of weird craps. from gps to bar code scanner to even reading words scanned from files or from camera. there are other softwares like dictionary(i think) to 3d games and conventional arcade ones. its loaded with tonnes of software to kill your boredom.

p.s you should see the center orb, the shiny orb color is really eye catching.

yes they are, actually the original orb lights are much prettier than the mod ones. and i was surprise to see the hinges there lit up. on stock they both have clear type hinges. Not sure if it lits up or not. still a long way to go on exploring the phone

oh yeah, among the 3 phones, n905i, sh905i and p905i, p905i comes with zoom and auto focus for both video and photo capture.

better manually enter or copy from sim. Cause from my understanding the bluetooth is only applicable for audio. Not sure on the software as i don't have the cable.

QUOTE(SEP910 @ Mar 23 2008, 02:32 PM)
Who's phone is this??

*
Looks familiar.

Anyway, been tested, after gone through no coverage area the phone will not recover signal. you just need to pop into the other phone to get the signal no need to call then off switch back to the docomo phone. tested work. Also i have been cracking on my head to find the largest screen protector. walked up and down on stores. no one in the handphone or even the pda enthusiast was able to provide me with the exact dimension or bigger for my disposal. However, lady luck was there, i saw a psp, then i thought chances were if i get one, might cut to the perfect dimension. A sales guy from sony was nice, he saw the dimension of my screen and quickly told me its a dimension of a t200 screen. yes you guessed it, a sony digital camera screen. after purchasing it, i find it was nicely tucked on to the screen but not up till the speaker phone and the internal camera la. just enough to cover the wide dimension of the screen without any modification.
