I just bought a rechargeable battery pack and fully charged it. I can't seem to get my xbox to detect it. Everytime i press the wireless button on my console then the button on my controller, it then just gives a full 3 blinks i think on both console and controller but it doesn't show what player is is. Am I missing any steps? or there's something wrong with the batteries?

The cable by itself works but not with the batteries.

My experience, i was conned into buying a 3rd party rechargeable battery pack (White) for the 360 controller...the shopkeeper near my place told me it's original Microsoft products and that the black battery pack doesnt exists. I'm kinda desperate for one that time and made hasty purchases due to the frustration of havin to recharge me batt over and over again and I also knew that the black rechargeable batt existed bcoz IT'S PRINTED ON MY ELITE'S BOX! Went home happily replace the AA battery cap with the newly bought rechargeable battery pack on the Elite's controller and IT'S JUST WONT PAIR no matter how many times I tried and follow the instruction on the 3rd party Microsoft look-a-like packaging. - BUYERs BEWARE - Get ur goods at reputable store and DONT MAKE HASTY PURCHASES LIKE I DID... However, once i tried it on my lil bro white controller...it works wonder! So, I end up buying the batt for him instead and stucked with AA batt til last week, I manage to get myself an Original black battery pack from GH through Djinn...it works for my Elite's controller and I never try swappin batt with my bro's controller anymore btw, Djinn explained that he havent heard of such problem persisted with ORI battery pack and he even uses different colour battery pack with different controller... I went back to the shop today, the solution was to plug the cable in first so it detects the controller then place the battery in while the cable is still plugged in. Hope it helps anyone out there with the same problem. Cheers
