Catacombs, something i must clarify about your CAI hose. doh.gif doh.gif The improvement is damn 9 GREAT~!!!! I tested just now. It only improve in long journey or in high speed. Usually when in 5th gear, my speed crushing very slowly when 100km/h.. But today I tested, it damn great. No more power delay. Very responsive!!! Pijak pedal, jalan. Very happy with the outcome. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif Just now when sapu dead curve, suddenly a honda civic cucuk. Cucuk me damn near and I managed to go faster in a short time. That honda civic was a old civic having batman wing with zth sticker. doh.gif

btw need ask bout my CAI.. is my CAI fender part there suckin in cold air? i heard before some1 told me tat not exactly as got sumthg block the air from coming in? izzit so?
*
I dun think it can suck enough cold air lor. You try close your nose and just use a little bit gap to breath. Hehe... Suck cold air can suck, but not much lor. Because we do CAI near the bumper which consider open air jor. cause no anything close it.

i used mosquito net but still stones managed to gather in the carburettor. Best is, use any mesh/net and put the mouth away from rushing air. Now after a month of adjusting the position of the funnel, I can see the carb is free of particles.  thumbup.gif

So the best way is put mesh and away from rushing air? Where you put? hehe.

QUOTE(neosaint99 @ Mar 24 2008, 11:53 PM)
that is not true
take apart your fender
you'll c that its not an air tight box
there are tonnes of holes everywhere
all you need is  that the holes all around the fender is an area equal or larger than the duct's opening
this is definitely the case (there are just so many places for air to leak into the system)
so there is no problem with restriction of air flow
if you have a very sensitive pressure gauge you can check
put the gauge in the fender cavity (away from the duct intake)
then rev your engine until 6000rpm oso can
im willing to put down rm50 that the pressure in the fender cavity wont even drop by 0.1bar
if there is air flow restriction, the fender will become a box under slight vacuum and even at the far end of the fender there will be a pressure drop

well, from the looks of it, the cpu fan there is there to draw in cold air for the intake
the problem here is that the cpu fan's capacity (the amount of air it can move a minute) is vastly too small to have any significant effect on the system
basically, the engine is sucking in just too much air for the teeny tiny bit of 'cooler' air that the fan is blowing in to have any effect unsure.gif
*
The fan inside engine bay just for cosmetic purpose ler. But, if the fan stick near the air filter box, it might help. Just like the elevo turbine. That stuff stick on the air filter mouth and it will gain more air.. By the way, when you replying dun use so many scientific theory la. very difficult to understand ler... sweat.gif sweat.gif

Added on March 25, 2008, 12:11 amBy the way, where can I buy MDF board? I gonna custom my A pillar to put in tweeter....

as you said, the elevo uses a 'turbine'
turbines and fans are in two totally different classes
turbines are basically compressors whereas fans just move air at constant pressure

if you notice, when i do give explanations which are a bit technical, i always give another in lay man's terms
these usually starts with things like "basically" or "which means that"....

the tech stuff are for the ppl out there who are interested in the 'why' of things

p.s. the term 'cosmetic' means for 'aesthetic beauty'...or in your case 'to look cool'
for this to be true, it has to be visible
which sadly is not the case in the engine compartment  tongue.gif hehehe
