It's the same way as checking on tiled floors.
You knock on the floor to hear the sound to detect hollow sounds. meaning to say it's not properly plastered.
One thing about parquet is when one starts to come off, it would create a ripple effect causing the rest to follow suit.
Btw, if the parquet was treated wood than you do not have to worry about termites. If you're not sure, you can engage a pest control company to help you get the floor treated.
