i'm sure that all the cons that you guys mention is due to poor quality parquet. where the parquet been done by the developer and not professional. if proper wood and glue been used, parquet can last for quite long.

termite will only eat those softwood. If you really like parquet alot, be prepare to fork out a sum of money on it. Don't ever get those cheapo wood, those small rectangular parquet where you can see it in every of your friends house. get those hardwood, at least 1 feet long wood like teakwood,merbau,jati (aka. premium wood).

after selecting the wood, get a professional in this field to lay the parquet for you.
