Hi Everyone just wondering....

i was playing around with my OC'ed yesterday...trying out something new.

When i set my BIOS to 10x 280 to get 2.8ghz and it shows in BIOS but when i'm in VISTA my CPU-Z shows 10 x 200 = 2ghz....

Why is it like that?? At first i thought it was Ntune so i uninstalled it. And now well its still the same anyone encountered this before??

Nope Havent. I'll work on it.

It was ok when i set it to 14 x 225 to get 3.1Ghz. Only when i change the multiply then i had this problem.

In BIOS is correct in Vista the FSB didnt change. it was either for example in CPU-Z : "10x 200 or 13 x 200."

Anyways i will keep on trying...

I use MX-2 compound. The performance is GOOD. So far the temp has never gone above 54c. And i must say that my room is really hot. I sweat if i dont turn on the fan.

If only i had air-conditioning.

@garka, u sure Cool and quiet is not enable? I'm using vista also.. I don't think it's the bios. Most likely some power saving thingie is being activated by the bios or the os.

Yes i'm very sure. I haven't installed any drivers for it. And the BIOS for Cool & Quiet is disabled.

I will check on the power in the bios.

Yup using latest CPU-Z

Well i figured out that if i keep it at 14x and change the FSB then the right FSB will be shown. If i increase the FSB also no problem. But if i change the Multiply then FSB won't stick.

Guess i'll have to stay with 14x as my multiplier
