Reason: I liked the fact that the IM716 reached decent volume levels without amping and SQ is good, the sound was my favourite among the few other major portables i tried. Three types of DSP and a customizable 5 band equalizer is a nice add on. Intuitive UI and super bright 1.8" OLED screen (320x240) but is rather small for episodes or full length movies. FM radio is a feature i dun find useful though, thats jz me. Battery life easily reaches 30+ hours for music and the always on feature owns players like the creative zen which has a bootup time.

Reason: Stable flash based MP3 player that could also play videos. Plus points are the sound quality, user friendly interface, and an additional expansion bay (SD card). An alternative to the popular Apple iPod Nano Video.

Exactly what I'm having and what I wanna say. Sony players really have good sound improving features.

The customizable equalizer is a nice feature. However, the "sound improving features" like VPT, DSEE and Clear Stereo are nice to play with but is not something I would use because I dun feel that they improve the sound rather the other way round.

Reason:easily the best sounding player at the moment(coming from a sony user. it made my A-608 sound really bad) and rivaling the cowons. www.anythingbutipod.com will swear by this too and even people at shure traded some of their se530s for a few units during the past CES. the only thing bad is the meagre 18 hour battery. limited formats (not so on audio, at least they have one losless format) but video support is crap. really cripples the use of the nice led screen. battery life alone cost the one star. other than that, it's perfect.

and oh, good luck finding one in malaysia. as far as i understand, it's only released in japan and u.s
