I plan to apply for those Engineering courses in UTem since my result wasn't great enough to apply for uni like UM,UKM and USM.
I would like to know about

1)the facilities(esp hostel and library)
2)learning environment
3)lecturers and their methods of teaching
4)safety
5)What CGPA did u score?Are/Were u satisfied with everything so far?

1. You cant compare to old university like UM, UTM, etc but the facilities in UTeM are not bad for me, at least everything is still new. You will have all the facilities you need like hostel, library, stadium, buses, etc. so dont worry.

2. They are building their main campus now, basically should complete at the end of this year (i think). If you are choosing Electrical or Electronic, their faculty building is completed in the main campus few years ago. If you are choosing mechanical, their have a campus inside Creative Factory (called Industrial Campus) while waiting the faculty in the main campus to be completed. Learning environment is as good as you can get in other university. Everything is new there.

3. No comment on the lecturers coz you will find good and bad lecturers in any university. But methods of teachning in UTeM is more "practical" compare to other engineering university. You will spend a lots of time in the lab doing experiment on the theory you learning during the class. They emphasize on "hands-on" teaching methods. Most graduate have a good technical background (insteads of just theory) and no problem looking a job in industry so far.

4. Safety ? Melaka is quite safe compare to other state in Malaysia, if that is wat you wan to ask.

5. I am not UTeM student. No comment

im not sure i can encourage people to join our UTEM. so far i know im really happy staying there...the lecturers are so good (Pn Anis drool.gif laugh.gif )
the environment im sure u already know...since it is the new public university...
it is quite hard to find those 'uni-environment' in the main campus...
coz no lenglui girls over there.... laugh.gif just kiddin
the lecture will be held in lecture room not the lecture hall....
and the library located at the industrial campus
the industrial campus consists of lecturer's office, library,FTMK faculty, student's hall and also the creative's factory

so....which course would like to join to?? and what more would like to hear?

1. Can i know who is going there?
I'm one of the UteM student...4th year next sem.. did't know someone could be interested going there..

2. and is it good?
UTeM in one of the university that basically the way of learning in technically hand's on...in other way u realy used wat leard like capacitor, resistor and all those electronic stuff. same goes if u are in other faculty like manufacture, mechanical , it and electric by the way in electronics n computer faculty. Likely in old n well knowd Uni there usally just learnd these stuff by book teorically. For me reading sucks, hard to understand, so by using n playing around what we learned in books n class.more easy to under stands..

3. How is the people there?
The people there are great and u can save a lot of money for food. U don't throw a lot of money in Malacca seriusly.

4. How many malays, chinese, india, and others in there?

well my class, half malay n half chinese n one indian..huhuhu!!!
basically it's balance in all race.
lecturer are also great......

LETS STUDY IN UTeM ............... Where great technical careers begins
