8 years ago, I learn piano lesson for 2 years, which makes me grade 2. And gradually because I don't have piano at home, I end my course. Now I plan to learn back, but I don't want to endure the 6 years lesson, can I make it shorter?

Well If I have not mistaken, you can skip grades up to Grade 5.
Grade 5 certificate is a requirement for Grade 6 but Grade 1-4 certificate is not required for Grade 5...

Correct me if I am wrong.

I still remember that time I visit a yamaha shop and they introduce me this electronic piano, i forgot the name, it started with V i think, cost around rm 1400, is it worth it if i buy it now if i want to relearn back? btw that price was 8 years ago lol..

You'll probably find it extra difficult to learn it by now, like how you can speak foreign language well (that you started to learn) like natives/mother tongue.

However, learning for fun/play a few songs you love always not a problem. Playing pop songs is not that difficult. wink.gif

I you just want to play POP songs, yes, you can learn it pretty fast, more if you already familiar with piano.

Visit http://www.playbyear.com.my

This course is actually teaching MUSIC via the keyboard/piano. Means, it's actually teaching you MUSIC. You'll learn how to MAKE music, train your ears, feel the music, create/find chords based on melody, etc. Currently, it's using the piano/keyboard since it's the easiest to pickup instruments. They'll provide Guitar sometime soon.

It's featured on the newspaper few times before, you can see it in the website too. They're also recognize by the UK Music School. Now you can even take exams without going through the theories. All you have to do is just PERFORM.

You can check it out, they can give you a demo/presentation for your understanding an even a free evaluation test to let you know if you're capable (e.g. tone deaf). They also provide a "money back guarantee" in case they really cannot teach you (of course, the condition is that you have to practice and follow instruction).
