i maybe also getting an E2220 this weekend, initially wanted to get the E4500, i guess just use the extra $ for getting a better GC maybe a 8800GT instead of 9600GT

one noobie question - is there any difference between getting valueram vs performance ram - if i only wish to overlock to 3Ghz

i just got a E2220, IP35E and 2G Mushkin 800 valueram over the weekend, the stock cooler is really small - can sifus here advise if want to do just mild oc to 3.0GHz - can use the stock cooler?

im still googling around on how to oc this processor mildly - what FSB and multipler - my prev system is a sempron 1.6@2.2, so outdated and a bit lost now. sweat.gif

thx in advance

im curious now, even BIOS at default i.e. non oced E2220@2.4GHz- prime95 failed on the second and third test - third test (blend) failed almost instantly
hope u guys bear with me, really noobie in ocing intel proc.

i did some reading yesterday but still confuse in many things - at default RAM is running 800 - meaning it is on 1:2 ratio right? is 1:1 supposed to be better?

yes 1:1 is better. Hmm whats the default speed of your proc>
*
E2220 default is 2.4Ghz, 12x200
ABIT IP35E and Mushkin 2 x 1G DDR800
i wanted to do mild ocing to 3Ghz, maybe 12x250, and not need to increase voltage here and there
what ratio shud i use for the RAM?
can i leave RAM setting at default?

the problem now at default setting also prime95 failed (both tests with memory thingy)

alamak vdroop? no idea

thx in advance

i'm going to sell back my mars since no time to play..laugh.gif might wanna get lower end, cheaper and easier mobo to oc..haha...and must hv auto oc recovery since lazy to reset jumper if oc failed..

auto recovery? i noticed that my IP35E when it refused to boot (changed bios setting ocing etc), after leave it off for a while, it would boot at default - is this auto recovery?
i dun upgrade my rig as frequent as others so noobie a bit with today's mobo feature
