Pentium D uses 90nm Architecture
Pentium Dual Core uses 65nm Architecture

TDP for both are totally different, therefore temperature limits are also different.

wrong. Pentium D came with both 90nm,65nm. 8XX series (smithfield) is 90nm while 9XX series (presler) is 65nm.
the main different between Pentium D n Pentium Dual Core is 1 use netburst tech, while the other use Core.
