my E2180 OCed @ 2.53GHz give me same temps which is 59 as stock @2.0GHz..

When OC'ed @2.8GHz max temps reach 65C... dont feel safe lol..

What's the max safe temp for this E2180? Still at Stock HSF with Tuniq TX-3.. thingking of getting CM Hyper TX3..

hi guys, im on e2160 and now clocked around 3ghz only, was reading around after so long and found many hit >3ghz

using team elite ram (value) and mem clock at 990
fsb 330 x9 multi

i can't seem to bring out more than this anymore.. hitting wall

all volt at default and pci-e locked at 100MHz

anything i can do to bring up some more? already tried diff multiplier and seems this is the best i can get out of it

im on stock cooling so wonder if i should jack up the vcore a bit since im on default vcore. or is it my ram prob?

gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L mobo

thx

oh one more question, i wonder if upgrading my rig would help in my case cos so many types of new processor than ours e21xx out there now including all the exxxx, qxxxx, i3, i5, i7. any advice which i should go for? best for bang for buck and also OC'able nicely. im doing heavy photo conversion from RAW formats and it takes hours so if i go for upgrade does it help much?

cheers

Edit : Just got a deal for E6750 so prolly will test this one out soon smile.gif

higher possibility got error there..how about ur bios reading 3gb rite?
btw what ur core temperature and heat sink?
most of user prefer lower vcore for daily use coz they dont want to fried their proc..lol..
1.36V is recommended by intel said JoBigShow in 7XXX series oc thread..haha...
if ur oc stable then try to tightening ur ram timing..like 4-4-4-12 or 3-3-3-8
i oso havew same proc but try to stabilize it at 300Mhz at 1.36v...undergo stress test 2 hours already...

now timings are 5-5-5-15 @ 666mhz.. proc running at 3.33ghz @ 1.4v..

temps are kinda depends on ambient temps... specs are in my siggy..

idle at around 40c-45c.. noon load @ 72c.. rainy nite load @ 64c.. rclxub.gif

for ram better use memtest..that what a lot of people said..
yeah thats mean that ur ram ok..mybe bug in software...try to use everest to detect ur ram amount..but the is an easiest way..just look at physical memory on task manager..look at total figure...that indicate ur ram amount....
