QUOTE(ocz @ Mar 18 2008, 02:01 AM) Yup i am here already.......want to learn a bit about over clocking intel. Well i an not really sure to buy E2180 / E2140 or E4400 / E4500. About motherboard,i am still searching fir it.So many P35 models. what i saw and heard it is much more easier coz intel chip promise u that it all can be clock quite high....

yo ocz, u can post here if u have the e2 proc leh By the way i would suggest you to get the e2160 or e2200 coz they might have a chance of getting high clocks.. e2140 and e2180, i dont believe have anymore good procs. M0 and L2 is just a stepping leh, M0 has a lower thermal dissipation power, there probably uses lower voltage to achieve high speeds. Meanwhile L2, is vise versa. But nowadays, intel has kinda mass market the whole thing, making both M0 and L2 suck.. to the max... M0 has a better chance to OC. Yes all intel chip, but not all e2 chips can do 3.0Ghz easy, how do u define easy? For me, i dont need anything to reach 3.0Ghz, some ppl need a Vcore pump for it...

maybe intel chips 2 years ago, might have been easy like the e6300 and e6600. and also initial e2140/e2160 are godlike.. now... no more.. we live with teh old skool procs for big scores...

How the stock in LYP ?? d e2140, i believe is kinda hard to get.. but for high and stable multi, go for e2160... but if u still can get e2140, go for it... mine e2160 can go 3ghz on stock vcore...

BUT....if u r soooooooooooooo lucky, u can get a proc dat can oc to 3.0ghz on stock!!!

E2140 already EOL, so it's hardly possible to get them now QUOTE(outsiders_86 @ Mar 18 2008, 02:52 PM) can we choose M0 or L2 when we purchase? i maybe wan to get a e2160 Most new E2160 are M0, look at the label on the box... If you can find SLA8Z, it's M0

Gigabyte boards again.... aite its good. If u intend to oc, make sure u sought out the cooling bit, coz from what i heard, the current stock coolers are thin, discouraging ppl from OCing the procs i think

Is it enough for me to get the E2140 to 3Ghz with these options?? (taken from Abit AWD9 MAX).
