Hi I need some advice on fellow musician. What is the best budget acoustic guitar that one can have cause i am starting out to play guitar.

Your advise is most appreciated.

buy kapok brand first. The price is below RM100. When i started learning, i used to buy this guitar and played. Enjoy learning

this is really have to depending on you.
if you think you are serious with it, and not 3minutes hot
you can try to get as good as possible, depending on how much you have.

LOL it's not as easy to find Kapoks nowadays! Now under a hundred you can easily find these smaller bodied guitars loaded with steel string in various brands, which doesn't play and sound nice. I actually prefer Kapoks to these! My advice, save a couple hundreds more and get something better, like a lower end Yamaha.

I agree with u. Buy kapok then change all the good strings. The sound oso not bad.

for me, im looking at two that are around the low RM1k range.

i havent tried the takamine yet.
but the simon&patrick to me is just as good if not better than the taylor big baby.

simon & patrick has a model under rm1k?

the s&p songsmith retails at RM1530...can get cheaper.
to me its better than the taylor big baby.

but maybe u should drop by smx and try it.
when i tried it fingerstyle it didnt sound that good, then i took out my jazz III pick.
and then to me it sounded much better than those RM4k guitars smx has left

btw, smx now are gonna bring in breedlove acoustics...they have 1 now...1 has already been sold.

breedloves looks fantastic. How much was the one sold in SMX? Maybe you know the model too?

yea they told me theyre bringing in breedlove sometime ago.

oh if thats the case then maybe i made the right choice as i do play fingerstyle more on my acoustic. once i hold a pick i tend to play what i usually do on an electric. habits die hard.

the breedlove they sold was about RM4.5k.
the one there now is also around the same price IIRC.

What ever it is, get a solid top, if you can afford it that will last you for a long time. U will appreciate it's tonal quality as you grew better. Otherwise, get a good quality non-solid top guitar. The neck is very important, as it must feel comfortable to press. Get a friend who knows to test for you.

I dont know about their folk guitar, but i dun like their classical guitar, sounds very lame and no attack. Even their trumpet doesnt have much of a attack, despite being easier to play.

Aww.. no one recommend Samick yet? last time i tested it was quite good.

I was looking for a nice singlecut acoustic and this looks good... dunno how it sounds though but from the name i think it would be decent enough... have to try it... and hope it's price is really not more than 1k range..
