This is my uncle's ride. Took this shot while I was at Sarawak to celebrate chinese new year. The car was old enough but was kept in a very good condition. This is is ride to his plantation.

Gave it a HDR treatment and desaturated it. CS3 for brightness/contrast, vignetting and sharpen trimming. user posted image

Nice, looks like scene out of Sin City smile.gif

I did find the covered up boxes?parcels? stuff? a bit distracting though. Would have been better without it.

But still, you did justice to the old timer biggrin.gif

for hdr -2, 0, +2 merged in photomatix, then set saturation to 0.
for Photoshop cs3 its the main layer, 1 duplicate layer for sharpening, 1 adjustment layer for brightness/contrast. Thats all biggrin.gif

@radical

Nice try.. Have u tried increasing the saturation in photomatix? Wonder how it looks like in color or this was shot in b&w straight?

Nice man the shot! great job.

wanna ask.
will 3 shots of different exposure be better than 1 shot of raw for hdr?

yup. u can even go with more than 3. depends on the fore and backlighting of what you wanna capture. your profile avatar for example could be a great hdr subject.

im using sony alpha, when i shoot raw. the format will be ARW.
photomatix can't detect arw.
so if i convert arw into jpeg and put it back to photomatix,
is is still in raw format? and still can produce good colors?

or anyone knows how to convert ARW to RAW.?
