just wondering can u change the fret board?

of coz u can. u can change the fretboard, customize the inlay to anything u like or scallope your fretboard, as long as u can bear the cost... just find a right luthier to do it...

if I wan my fret board to be rosewood and nit basswood with flower inlay how much wud dat b

If it's bolt-on, it'll be easier.
If it's neckthru, a little harder.
Best is, to consult a pro luthier like Tham.

i check out with tham he doesnt do fretboards say not enuf manpower.

can u reccomend me someone hu can change my pgm fretboard from basswood to rosewood, ebony with vine inlay at a cheap price

Aren't all pgm models fingerboard rosewood?

Basswood is far too soft a wood for neck purposes. It's a body wood.

Maple is more often used for necks. If your neck is maple, and your fretboard is maple, occasionally, some manufacturers do a one-piece construction thing, where they hollow out the truss cavity and hammer the frets straight on that one piece of wood, which is a no-go. If it's two-piece, the drilling, steaming and replacement of the 'board is still by far too much work, especially since the PGM has a bolt-on neck and such necks are sold or custom made.

Go to Warmoth.com and have a look.

don8ld : Just go and get a custom neck from the custom shops, local or overseas.. Overseas better. If you really want it.

Do a google search for the shops.

And I too doubt the neck/fingerboard is Basswood. lol..

i bought the PGM3 at a gud price for 1.6k at Bentley , i bought it 2 weeks ago lol.

look, everyone has told you the fretboard is not basswood and is rosewood.
and im also going to tell you the same thing, that its rosewood.

so if you want to...pls go ahead and change the current rosewood fretboard to another rosewood one, and be somewhere in the region of close to RM700 poorer with nothing to show for.

The body is basswood.
The Neck is the Wizard II neck, which is supposed to be rosewood.

So it's either you want to get some custom Ebony fretboard with inlays or something, i dunno... Maybe you can try get a custom Basswood fretboard .. Not.

There is no 'best', everyone has different preferences. Different woods offer different tone and touch. Its all up to the individual. And I am just dumbstruck by this thread, haha. don8ld, how can you afford to spend so much on guitars and yet know almost nothing about them? Do some research first next time.

but commonly i've founds many of guitar using maple and rosewood for the fretboard and somesay ebony..
so 'otai'2 here can u all tell me others guitar that use another type of wood for their fretboards??

that's because rosewood and maple IS the common material for fretboard. ebony is usually used on more expensive/premium guitars.

and on ebony fretboard the tone is kinda warm,dark compare to rosewood and others... thats why usually metal players love this wood..
