There is no 'best', everyone has different preferences. Different woods offer different tone and touch. Its all up to the individual. And I am just dumbstruck by this thread, haha. don8ld, how can you afford to spend so much on guitars and yet know almost nothing about them? Do some research first next time.

thanx man for all your advices..
but commonly i've founds many of guitar using maple and rosewood for the fretboard and somesay ebony..
so 'otai'2 here can u all tell me others guitar that use another type of wood for their fretboards?? icon_question.gif

that's because rosewood and maple IS the common material for fretboard. ebony is usually used on more expensive/premium guitars.

and on ebony fretboard the tone is kinda warm,dark compare to rosewood and others... thats why usually metal players love this wood..
