I think Mobile comms company should stick to what they do best - providing voice calls and mini data services (SMS).

Just tried U Mobile for my company at Westport, and extremely satisfied with the speed there. As with my first time applying for U Mobile at Damansara Damai, they keep saying no coverage in Westport (despite having full bar signal!).

i've read that some user encounter the sim card registration failure when using with their 3G phone ..well i'm facing the same problem, i called the CS just now ..she said that we cannot use our handphone for this U68 plan, which is bullsh!# ..as during registration one of their staff is using the same phone as i am & he said that there is no problem when using his phone for data ..i stressed on using my phone during registration because if the connection is ok then i planned to buy the modem ..mostly i'm using the internet at works & this is just a back up ..that is why their U68 plan fit me well ..cheap maaa

so sifu, is there any other setup that i need to do in my phone setting? ..i've complaint to U mobile at BTS & they've replace my sim card, their technician was not available when i was there ..it's been 2 weeks now ..btw, my phone is nokia N81 & my house area is near sentul, next to duke h/way ..so, guys please help icon_question.gif
*
what's your problem anyway?
Was it... can call in/out but u can not connect to internet via your 3G?

If yes... plz answer this...
- the U68 plan, was the 'Data service' part of your deal?
- are you using Nokia PC Suite to connect the 3G?

I noticed that my line will get disconnected for 10 minutes at 3a.m to 3.10a.m every midnight...Anyone facing the same problem?

By the way, heard ppl said that the whole backbone of U-Mobile uses 10M fiber to the net. Is it true? Anyone can confirm with this?
*
yup, the service will not be available during that period. try to complaint it to Cust. Service on it.
10M fiber? not really... tongue.gif

so meaning if buying a premium ac will bypass the shared ip thingy?

will those tat shared my ip will also be able to hav access of wat the premium ac holder hav cause we are sharing ip?

thx for my noob wub.gif
*
u need to get the Premium RS account should u need to *abuse* the download speed as UM implement shared IP concept.
btw, UM also have the Fair Usage of 5GB per month as well (as same as other telco since it's a MCMC regulation)
just that UM have yet to enforce the rule rclxms.gif

abt the cap, i ady downloded more than 5GB, but U still din enforce the cap yet cause there are still plenty of bandwidth available cause U din hav so much customers yet rclxms.gif

suiiiiiiii...
it's a trade secret... if not, everyone will jump into the UMobile wagon and the speed will be reduced... biggrin.gif
as i have said earlier, start your download after 3.30am for 'maximum' download speed
that's the true potential of the download speed that u can hv with UM (3.30am - 7.00am)

I was surprised with what some users can get especially digilife. Previously many commented that U-Mobile's service is really slow.
*
i reckon it's coverage that contribute to this
those areas near to KL Town Center will have the max. speed as the signal towers are abundant there (with different hardware being installed as well)
main focus will always be given to KV areas

UM Data Service can be used with normal 3G phone as well
just that u can't make call from the Sim Card

sure or not............. abt the sim cause when i slot my usim into my 3G fon, it shows sim card registration failed but it runs fine in my USB modem
maybe yours is tied your voice call ? or maybe mine is the new batch tat can only enable packet switch whereas yours is packet switch ( data only ) and circuit switch  enabled

my speed now on a congested period behind a proxy

all the calls made outside the UM 3G coverage will be roamed to Celcom
Celcom Network only allows call and sms services to be roamed
thus, u can't use the 2G by Celcom like gprs and edge for online purpose (it's due to the MoU signed between UM and Celcom)
