Mr.Howard Webb
Howard Melton Webb (born July 14, 1971) is an English football referee who operates in the Premier League and has been a FIFA-listed referee since 2005. He lives in Rotherham, Yorkshire. His other occupation is as a sergeant in Sheffield 1 South Sector SNA of the South Yorkshire Police. (wiki-ripoff)

aside from reminding me of the great Italian ref mr.colinsmthng from the appearance tongue.gif the Englishmen just give me the feeling he had "i'm the law" tattooed on his forehead in the match he officials. the million dollar player seems to moan less and the managers divert their barking on the 4th official more, prefer to play the advantage and let the game play on then blow the whistle every 5mins, i like the bloke alot smile.gif

Howard Webb is my favourite Premiership referee as well.

As for world favourite, it was to be the infallible Pierluigi Collina!

With the EPL being a more physical league, stronger referees are needed.

nod.gif nod.gif i hope the fa or raf committee would let him official those big match more. although he is still rather young compare to other epl ref but i rarely see him get the big decision wrong. i just hate the way certain senior epl ref would pus$y under pressure of bigstar player or top manager. disgraceful as well with the players and managers trying to "work" the official of the match these day .. shakehead.gif

yes.. at first i thought it is baros who will get yellow card for diving. Another example, when referee giving hleb a yellow card for diving when it is so obvious that nesta got a contact with hleb feet. sweat.gif

3 yellow cards sweat.gif

Before Poll started to make silly mistakes, he used to be one of the better referees out there.

Uriah Renie was quite good too in recent years. And does anyone remember Jeff Winter?

Crap ones in EPL would be Steve Bennet and Mike Riley. sad.gif

Remember the match between liverpool and chelsea where ref Rob Styles accidentally given a wrong penalty which caused Liverpool to lose 2 points...During that time, i remember most of the reds fans are blaming Rob Styles for causing us drop 2 points and Pako to quarrel with Rafa and left reds....

Most of the other teams supporters said we are juz giving excuse for our own team for not winning the game...and now, i keep hearing those ppl that accused us of giving excuses are actually BLAMING referee for their cup defeat/ losing point in bpl title race...

and when rafa blamed the referee for not protecting Torres(in reading match..carling cup match), many of you out there said rafa is giving too much excuse on media...and now, i heard those ppl complaining that the referee aint giving enuff protection for their star in team...

I juz wan to ask u all....dont u guys think tats funny?I'm not trying to start a flaming war or wat..I juz wan u guys to know IF U CAN COMPLAIN, WHY CAN'T US?

Juz curious...

Yup, and that was one of the memorable moments as Titi stood up for himself and the team, but too bad no one can challenge the authorities without getting away.

No one said you can't complain biggrin.gif

This happens to every team, every manager, and every fan. Arsene and Arsenal gets blasted everytime whenever they complain about the incompetency of the referee, no matter the accusations are true or false. Ferguson got the same treatment last weekend when MU lost in the FA Cup...

This kind of thing happens. Don't fret over what other fans say, just keep on supporting your team.

Remember the goal Mike Riley celebrated?

Was about 10 seasons ago if I am not wrong...Liverpool vs dunno who d lar...Berger scored and Mike Riley threw up his hands (smiling as well)...man that was funny...he's not a Liverpool fan, the reason he gave was that he played advantage prior to Berger scoring, so...

Yeah, would love to see that again...
