is there any way to remove the unnessesary channel ? if i format the system will fix it? and if i format it can i still play the non ori games? pls help me out

hi guys, im newbie here, i jus bought my mod wii(us version) yesterday but i found out on my wii channels there abit messy there are 2 wheater broadcast channel, two wii shop channel and one japanese channel( no idea what iis it). When i click on the japanese channel my whole system jus hang there, then i have to off the power to reboot again.
is there any way to remove the unnessesary channel ? if i format the system will fix it? and if i format it can i still play the non ori games? pls help me out |

I think you just bricked your Wii......
Were you trying to update the firmware with Smash Brother JPN? You're not supposed to update via games that are not for your region. NTSC U/C can only update with NTSC U/C games and NTSC J can only update with NTSC J games. |

nope i dint update the firmware with Smash Brother, the console was already like that when i bought it, sigh!!! headache now i just call the gameshop where i bought my wii from the boss told me is like that one nvm u jus dont click on the japan channel ignore it ><

u bought a 2nd hand or recon unit! how much was it? new consoles should not have japanese channel. it should be clean.

Looking as how a normally modded Wii US machine shud be clean of channels, u seem to have gotten a 2nd hand one, or a refurbished one. Sorry man.

what happened was the owner did a smash bro update or any NTSC jap games into the console before selling it to you. That's the reason you got two channel there. I believe your console also cannot do the latest update firmware.
Go back to the shop and ask him to flash back the ori setting. (no point formatting the console as the firmware is stuck there permanent) |
