What's your definition of long term? Mine is about 3 - 5 years, though some goes as long as 10 years to forever.

To be honest, plantatin stocks might as well wait for the CPO to drop much more then when the stocks are cheaper and at a discount, then buy it and keep it for long term. If you buy it now, while the prices are dropping, your long term gain might equal a short term gain when it is bullish again. So if you are patient, then wait for it to drop some more.
