For its part, Microsoft quickly denied any move toward Blu-ray had been officially made. "We have made no such announcement," a rep told GameSpot. "Games are what are driving consumers to purchase game consoles, and we remain focused on providing the largest library of blockbuster games available."

I agree with the Bolded statement...unless Microsoft have decided to start releasing their games for 360 in blu-ray format (which i doubt they will), i rather buy a PS3 or a blu-ray player to watch blu-ray movies...juz my 2 cents

No idea where to post this. Anyways, two idiots I met today (Friday) - one in real life, and one online.

The first one, is a shopkeeper of a magazine stall.

I asked him if he had "The Official Xbox Magazine" (which he has, old copies, Jan 08 issue for just RM15) and guess what he did next?

He asked me -
"Why, you bought a new Xbox 360 is it ?"

Me : Yeah.

Shopkeeper : Why lah? People all buying PS3 these days. Summore PS3 got nicer games.

Me : (I literally could not believe what he had just asked, I paused for 2 seconds, searching for words) ... Err... I prefer the games on

Shopkeeper : Unless you are a big Halo 3 player ?

Me : (At this point, I wanted to strangle him, but fine...) Yeah. I am. (And walked away).

First and foremost, he had no bloody right to tell me what to buy. Idiota.



The second person, is well, a comment I made on YouTube about GTA IV.

Me : [I posted a message] about why GTA IV was delayed in October, because of technical issues on the PS3.

Crap dude : [replied to me] Its only a minor issue you fagg**. Its because of bloody Xbox 360 we can't fly planes on the PS3.


(I did not reply anymore, coz' I hate to speak to people like this)

Later on that YouTube GTAIV video (I think its trailer 3), someone replied to Crap dude : Hey 'defaultname365' (my nick), how come PS3 outsold Xbox 360 early this year?

Me : [reply] Its because Xbox 360 gamers are already sitting at home enjoying next-gen games when you PS3 gamers, are now only going to get the console.

Crap dude : [message me] Get a life. The format on Xbox 360 is already obsolete, so I have no idea how the game designers will fit the game onto DVD for your console when we PS3 have Blu-Ray which is the winning format. ******s like you support the back end of companies poop drops.

Me : [I marked his message as spam] AND crap, should have posted the whole thing here as proof.







As for thread title, there are possibilities to this happening. There is the usual rumors on the net. However, Microsoft is always adamant and they will never adapt anything "Sony". Believe me, Microsoft will search for alternatives such as content via Xbox Live.

MS had to consider a few things

If they start producing INTERNAL blu-ray, those currently have Xbox 360 can be thrown away because future games will all in blu-ray. Guess what, MS making a lot of new sales again.

Sony will be stupid just to receive royalties. How much can you earn from there? And If Xbox 360 goes to blu-ray, PS3 will 100% lose for sure IF blu-ray titles are exclusive for Xbox 360.

Sony asking for Gears of War 3 to be in PS3? LMAO. MS not that sucker to give up that part.

and i think if microsoft wanna had a blue ray technology, may be the next xbox360 ( xbox2020 ) will have it far more advance ...thats for sure

dont care if they released bluray on 360 or not..but if got better la..no need waste money go buy bluray player...

RM10 says the discussion will go through. Microsoft afterall developed the codec for Blu-Ray.

Why are u excited that "IF" blu-ray is built into the 360 and what makes u think current 360's owner will "throw" their xbox?

Me also dunno why we have to throw it??? M$ still can release Dvd version and Boo Ray version, right???

Exactly bro...MS can either design external blu-ray drive or sell replacement blu-ray drive for the current 360 "IF" MS really gonna adopt blu-ray format and integrate it into the 360 in the future...I tried hard to figure out why we have throw our 360 and still trying to figure out why MmxZero said "all can throw their Xbox 360"...

he kaya lorh...its okey lerh...can throw things just like that, for me if microsoft make built in blue ray drive for the latest xbox360 , i think microsoft will release to kindda format for every single games or may be the blueray drives can support the current 360 games format...hope so

but on certain games, xbox360 hardware is better then ps3..if the graphic are better on 360 why must throw 360 and buy ps3 ?

Lets see... Extrenal Blu-ray add on will enable you to play your movies only. If you need to play games as well, they will need to do more coding into it.

MS is not stupid and they are not going to write 2 codes engine for blu-ray and dvd which in the end it is more costly. With blu-ray, you can even do more thing with it.

Well you can use it for watching DVD. If they do adopt games for blu-ray. I dont think it will be quite useful.

My meaning of throw means disposal. if you know how to dispose it. The coding is not that simple. They have to redo from the beginning.

hardware? Ps3 hardware is better then Xbox 360. did you see the specs? I saying throw current xbox 360 if they do adopt blu-ray games in 360.

What spec of PS3 is better?, only the processor is better, others like ram, GPU, Xbox 360 is still better.

Eh, i thought 360 hardware is better then ps3..not ?..cause some games u compare both the graphic are better in 360..some games like Assasins creed u can see there are less npc in it compare to 360..games like nfs prostreet, it looks a bit better and brighter in 360 compare to ps3.. so i still think 360 is better then ps3 when it comes to games..not juz selection of games but inside the games as well

Ya. But the game was more concentrated on Xbox 360 then PS3 that why it looks more better. I think the pro street was the other way round.

The problem why Xbox 360 game turn out to be better then PS3 because of the coding. i remember there was a game where it suppose to be PS3 exclusive but in the end went into Xbox 360 due to the coding difficulty in blu-ray.

Anyway this is already out off topic.

From how i see it, its a good thing for everyone. We could save from buying PS3 or blu ray players, and the internal BR player, well that should be another case.

I'd like to see PS3 and 360 live happily ever after. But then again, i might just get flamed from fanboys. Ah well, live a harmonious life....

dont care liew...ps3 and xbox360 masing-masing also great next gen console...but 360 games cool ! lot of them.

Actually u the one that need do a research hehe. Proven that GPU in X360 (ATI) is more superior than PS3 Nvidia.

And one more thing. coding dififculty not because of blu-ray, but because of CPU Cell Processor in PS3. I think u dont know what u talking about.

You sure about that? Xbox 360 graphic is better then PS3 ? Explain to me why the PS3 can produce double the frame rate then Xbox 360? CPU problem?

and blu-ray coding is much more difficult then dvd.

I have already fully done my research long time ago and i know what I'm talking.

every console has it's own advantage. Is up to the producer of the game whether to push to the limit of the console of the games.

So what I'm a fanboy? i own both the console.

The fact that Ps3 is a better hardware of Xbox 360. But producer of game have already an advantage of Xbox 360 engine programming by 1 year.

It all depend on wether who want to push the console to the limit.

woo woo stop it...chill out...ps3 & xbox360 both of em good.If u prefer PS3 then go for it...dont compare between em..but why most developers who made for sony pindah to microsoft gaming console.?

trust me....360 got bad ass games...thats why console of the year 2007..and may be 2008 perhaps.

Like I said both console have their own advantages.

Xbox 360 have a head start by 1 year which make a lot of game developer in 1 year can adopt many many things.

Thats why everything depends on the developer and producer of games which console they want to make the best out of it.

A new set of 60 gb will be out and maybe with blu-ray player in it. I wonder how ppl are going to play old games if new games are blu-ray, don't you think the lens will die even more faster?

i think microsoft will create blue ray player to play new games ( like hd dvd player ) for the previous system.

no.2 may be the games got 2 version, blue ray and standard 360 dvd.

Adui... u can ask forumer at hardware section, 9 of 10 of them will said:" ATI always have better image quality compare to Nvidia." But with PS3 Cell Processor, it really help the game run on higher frame rates than Xbox360.

What makes u think i'm directing that to u? Your sensitivity or u are admitting that u are indeed a Sony's fanboy here? Btw, I'm talking bout a "specific" guy that i know as an example and he is definitely not u. Anyway, I didn't ask and are not interested to know whether what u "own" either. Yes, but most out of all the portion still depends on the GPU. Nvidia vs ATI? Is hard to say....

Getting pointless. Blu-ray is blu-ray. Game is game. Different thing, what's there to argue? It's not like we gona magically start playing games in blu-ray. Maybe future xbox but definitely not 360.
