added my first 2 UK release blurays.

Congrats!!! rclxms.gif

You'll notice the casing for UK BDs are thicker, that same size is used for Planet Earth with 4 discs!

Really waste of rack space!!! (LOL, actually only 3 mm thicker, but if you got 10 UK BDs you already waste 30mm space! tongue.gif ).

And I know their standard DVDs already got a lot of subtitles, but now the BDs are even more!!! thumbup.gif

How do I know leh... the price was right and I thought maybe just the cover a little bit different. Besides, free shipping from Play-Asia is faster than amazon. Didn't know the quality would be so shit... Just a lesson.

Is it??? How come my i-robot is paper box one. The front cover is a box and the disc has its own box again. Just slide in, like LOTR 4-disc edition one.
*
I only use PA for HK BDs and PS3 games/peripherals only. Paper ar? Maybe that fancy casing thingy, with lipat2 one? hmm.gif

Yes, sometimes it's depend on luck.. some parcel over RM500 wont taxed..But Make sure the value lower than RM500 is safe from tax..
The shipping charges is increasing also with the number of disc u buy, so better divide to few shipment and monitor the item values
*
Not really. Above or lower RM500 still depends on LUCK.

I've read many times, even 3 titles kena... Don't remember who, but someone here.

Guys,

Can I ask something. I plan to buy this BD from Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Am-Legend-Blu-ray-Will-Smith/dp/B0013FBS20/ref=pd_bbs_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1207765663&sr=8-1) and few other stuff (headphone, HDD, etc) but when I clicked at "click here for more details" on shipping it said it only ship to single US address. How exactly you guys have it sent here to Malaysia? SOrry for my ignorance. Couldnt read from the first page, alot of time to consumed.
*
Some electronic stuff Amazon won't ship internationally. After you select your shipping address, it will inform you that certain items marked red can't ship to your address. Just remove those items and you're good to go.

Maybe you can find those computer/games peripherals from Play-Asia instead.

Amazon.com Special Offer: $50 Off a Future Purchase

Dear Amazon.com Customer,
As someone who purchased an HD DVD player from us before February 23, 2008,* you might like to hear about a special offer available from Amazon.com.

New technologies don't always work out as planned. We at Amazon.com value our customer relationships more than anything and would like to support customers who purchased these players by offering a credit good for $50 off any products sold by Amazon.com. Just use promotional code XXX XXXXX XXXXXX when checking out. The code is valid through April 9, 2009, so you have plenty of time to use your credit. Purchases from third-party merchants on our site are not eligible.
Hmmmm, what should I buy? Time to shop again. But I got 1 year to decide. Amazon is so kind. rclxms.gif
*
Only those who purchased HD DVD player? doh.gif

It's still a great player though, with the upscaling, etc. I thought of buying it last year, if I did, I will not sell it and be a proud owner of a rare item, and be part of history. And I would also get the $50 offer! tongue.gif

AVP2 got 2 disc b'coz the second disc is a digital copy disc for you to transfer the whole movie to your iPod or PSP but in SD resolution aje. That's how they thank you for buying and supporting a crappy movie. According to the reviews, the PQ and AQ are pretty good, just that the storyline ......  doh.gif

That means we can transfer to iPhone? rclxm9.gif

But yes, AVP is crap. The second one is even crappier. doh.gif

Time to look forward to other titles with digital copy. thumbup.gif

The Perfect Storm Announced for Blu-ray

Warner Home Video has announced that they will bring the action hit 'The Perfect Storm' to Blu-ray on July 22nd. This is the latest Warner title that was previously only available in high definition on the now dead HD DVD format, but is now going to be released on Blu-ray. Video will be presented in 2.40:1 1080p VC-1 accompanied by a 5.1 Dolby TrueHD audio track. Extras will mirror the HD DVD release with three commentaries, three featurettes, a stills gallery, and theatrical trailer.

It's Halloween, 1991. Near Gloucester, Massachusetts, the six members of the Andrea Gail, a swordfishing boat, head out to sea for their last trip of the season. Unbeknownst to them, a shockingly brutal storm is slowly gaining steam. Before the National Weather Bureau has a chance to inform the crew of the impending danger, it's too late. The resulting battle with three merging weather fronts--an unheralded natural disaster--is grueling and tragic. Based on the true-life best selling novel by Sebastian Junger, The Perfect Storm stars George Clooney, Mark Wahlberg, Diane Lane and is directed by Wolfgang Petersen.

iPhone to Become Blu-Ray Player Remote

user posted image

NetBlender will this week announce a new technology that links Blu-ray content to the iPhone, called BD Touch. The technology would allow iPhone developers to interface with Blu-ray players such as the Playstation 3 and act as a remote control or content source.

Denny Breitenfeld, the CTO of NetBlender told Gizmodo:

It's a technology that is built into our professional Blu-Ray authoring tool that will allow studios, independent movie companies to enable BD Touch features. These features send data in two directions from the Disc to the Iphone and vice versa. Video, Audio, text, and player commands can be sent.

So right now it seems everyone likes the "remote control" idea. However the player can control the IPhone as well. One idea is to automatically pull up IMBD of the movie you are watching right on your Iphone or send the movie information a movie database on your phone. The ideas are only limited to what people want and will use.

We are releasing an SDK for the 100k Iphone developers out there so they can take advantage of BD Touch features to build applications that easily work with all kinds of titles.
