i got the same problem as you.. im using colorful 9600GT /w zalman VF1000

My card only go blank screen of death after a few hours of gaming..

when i send it to PCzone service center, the noob technician only test it for a few minutes then claim
"no problem at all" it is the problem caused by ma PC.. now im stucked with this Rm560 useless piece of crap
. i will never return to PCzone anymore.. i try to put my card into my friend PC.. same thing happen..
i try new PSU, also the same problem occur.. right now im using temporary solution, which is setting
PCI-E volt in bios to "+0.2" this will reduce the chance to "blank screen of death". however it is not
a permanant fix for it.. it still give me "blank screen of death".

what steam??

whats wrong with this steam?? even im not playing steam realated games. the balnk screen of death still occur. like COH, Crysis, 3dmark06, supreme commander

dont tell me this card required more juice than coolermaster extreme 550w can provide.

the only way to rectify this problem is to RMA this crap.. but... i cant RMA it,
coz the noob PCzone technician just test my card for a few minutes and claim
the graphic card is working fine..

u need a spare great old PCI card (ie S3 Virge) to act as ur main card then only u can reflash ur 9600GT back to ori bios

Fresh installed WinXP Pro
Colorful 9600GT /w Zalman Vf1000
-temp <42C all the time
-Mobo bios set to 90Mhz PCI-E frequency
-mobo PCI-E voltage set to +0.1v
-downclocked to 640Mhz/900Mhz shader 1600Mhz
- random balck screen/monitor lost signal after a few hour gaming.


i should have get 8800GT in the first place... sigh.. i never thought that this first batch cards plague with this issue
i'd tried to plug it into ma friend great old Asus nforce6150 mobo.. it works great without downclocking, but still
the bank screen of death will occur after a few hours and it is very random

Added on May 3, 2008, 11:21 amthis is untrue.. if u flash ur current card with new bios, it wont help.
however if u can RMA ur card and get a new card then come with new bios (11.xx) then u are fine.

its not true power. but one think for sure. if my old 430w cooler master can juice my x1900xt, why not new 550w psu can juice my 9600gt? since x1900xt require more juice than 9600gt.
even 8800gt is able to run on my old psu without problem.
ur acbel 430watt is not true power also... read some review
