i seriously wonder why camera lens cover is removed in n95 8g =.=
*
probably because it looks sleeker and another thing is because a lens cover would make it bulkier than it already is

its because of the 8gb internal it makes the phone thicker

so if they had a lens cover it be even thicker
*
im not sure about that but the thickness is because the larger sized battery compartment, thus making the overall size bigger..also take note the larger screen size

yeah me too..

1st because it looks sleeker

2nd because you dont need to open up the camera cover and can just take pics faster..

well all three phones are excellent..

if you want a more compact phone with all the function of n95 8gb then take n95..and can easily change covers too.. real nice!

take note that n95 has lower ram (improves with later firmwares), but got lens cover, 2.6" compared to 8gb's 2.8" screen. n95 is also a bit smaller and less bulky. n95 also has a smaller capacity battery.

n85 has fm transmitter and new fp2 interface with amoled screen. different kind of keypad though.

known defects..one most popular and widespread is the ear-speakerphone going soft/low volumed and needs physical repair.

2nd is the light leak that usually happens after you've send the phone for repairs

3rd is the 3mp camera/video recording being horrible in low-light and indoor. the lens cover behind the phone is one of the problem too as it made pictures look more dull by having less colour vibrance.

and some other things..

Great 5mp camera - n82, n95, n95 8gb ( if flash is taken into consideration, n82 wins hands down and gets no. 1 in rank. )

good 5mp camera - n79, n85

great 3mp camera - n93, n93i, n73, n73me, 6500 slide

good 3mp camera - 5610xm

mediocre 3mp camera - 5800xm

bad 3mp camera - e71

if you taking picture..are u use flash[in a bright place].???
welcome new user... thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif  party.gif

yes i do take picture everyday.

yes i do use flash a lot as i need to do night shots and indoor shots.

btw, i want a phone that can take pictures and be reliable enough to make and receive CALLS (it's a phone 1st and camera 2nd) so i do need better battery life. thus n95 8gb. period thumbup.gif

n85 has that option but there's a bit of dispute in the way the usb charges

firstly the charging socket is a micro usb socket but it doesnt mean that if it looks like one it acts like one.

i've read in numerous threads that this usb charging option is more of a gimmick as some would show charging when connected to usb but doesnt charge..some would not charge at all.. so u'll be the judge.

keep in mind that not all usb has sufficient power to charge the phone so some usb would charge and some wont

im not so sure about that though... it's pretty complicated. but i've found some preety cool mods in youtube..such as how to use n95 as a router and let other laptops connect to you.

some people have some pretty nice mods but have to google for the specific type of mods that u want

maybe nokia is wise not to implement usb charging as it could cause batteries to have a shorter lifetime. Not all usb ports have the needed power to charge a phone. plus how do you do data transfer without the phone charging at the same time?

yeap better late than never.. its still a great phone
newest firmware is v31
check google on the changelogs. just type in n95 8gb v31 firware, alot of news on it.
but its not hackable once upgraded, the only method i found is to first hack the firware in v30, then do some steps to bring it over to v31.
*
yeah pity me... i didnt do it in v30 and already update it to v31.. oh well.

guys....if we use the Maps in N95 that go online....
is there any charges there??
or should i turn off the Go Online....??
*
I think that u are referring to Nokia Maps right?

If you turn on go online there will be gprs data charges but the lock on time will be faster (can detect your location significantly faster)

If you turn the online off, the phone will only use the built in GPS to find your location.. that will take several minutes depending on your location.

ps. avoid obstructions like tall buildings..

just pm him la.. no point you ask in this thread..

by the way..

there are forumer that i trusted ..

for ORI ..i trust e_trade_pj ...
for AP.. i trust cynetworks ...

they are good seller with good reputation thumbup.gif
*
Wrong again. the point im making is askin in this thread is to tell him and also other forumers that if you are in KL of maybe johor, you could easily find sellers in this forum. if you are outside of KL like perlis etc, it is not advisable to do postage with sellers in KL or johor as it has a higher possibility of damage or loss while in transport. better to cod if u really want to buy with those sellers.

if i pm him others wont know this info do they? doh.gif

is the wifi sniffing easy to use?...

as in is it easy for the phone to sniff out wifi network available?...

what if the wifi network suddenly get disconnected?...will access to the internet be disconnected o will it connect automatically using 3G which is damn expansive?....

thank you for your attention...
*
when u want to go online u have options whether to use wifi or 3g.

if the wifi is suddenly disconnected, do not worry, as you can set it to use WIFI as the default connection. Then it will not automatically connect to 3g and it will only display "disconnected". u will have to choose what network to connect to in order to resume

if you dont want to use 3g at all and would like to save battery at the same time, u can change TOOLS> SETTINGS> PHONE > NETWORK.. in the netwrok choose GSM only if you want to disable 3g. it will save a bit more battery life in urban areas and it will save much more battery life in rural areas where there are no OR low 3g coverage.
