Hi guys, I am going to Penang end of December with 5 of my friends and we planned to go there by bus. Do you guys have any recommendation on the buses itself? We prefer those with good reputation and comfortable.

If go penang on 3rd day CNY, most stalls still closed?

thanks for the replies, my friend looked around and we found out renting a bungalow is cheaper (especially since there's 10 of us) ! a bungalow in Penang Hills (if I'm not mistaken) is about RM700/night so its like RM70/person per night!

just a little worried about the traffic on 24-26th Jan as its the weekend before CNY and we plan to drive up to Penang. And the dates aren't flexible as some of them not busy and some are working .

also anyone familiar with Penang can give some tips on where best to go have fun playing water sports and snorkelling(if available, and preferably all in the same area ) and also roughly the prices? Since we're going just 3d we want to be sure where to go so we don't lose time on the 2nd day!

Hi, I would like ask for suggestion for trips in Penang.

My family consists of 6 ppl (including 1 baby and 1 children) will go to Penang for 4 days trip during this coming school holiday.

Can anyone suggest which hotel that have good rates and have easy access to hawker stalls that have nice and delicious food?
--> Because our aim for this trip to Penang is to try delicious food

Besides, can anyone suggest foods to try in Penang?
--> I have search Google, but most of guide and recommendation are outdated and I afraid the shop moved or closed..

Hi you travel by car or? Cause penang I would highly recommend you to drive around. The nearest place to try most of the penang foods would be Burma road. You may try tune hotel. Opposite that hotel it has 1 very famous hokkien mee, before the hotel there's chendul, prangin mall, komtar, walking another way round there is green house, which has few kinds of penang foods and you can walk to cantonment road too. A lot of hawkers around that area.

Yup Penang road. very near to burmah road. Do search that area. =)
If you really want to travel by walking, you picked the right hotel then. You can walk around your hotel area, wall art is very near to your hotel and pasar malam, not that area.  . They move around though, from monday to friday different places. Penang has a very famous temple at Air Itam too, Kek Lok Si, do try the laksa over there if you're going in the afternoon, cable car is over that area too.

Usually Penang road is quite happening during night time, Saturday, Friday.

Car rental I am not very sure. Maybe some other forumers can help you with that.
