A light-hearted brief survey on fanboyism for an intended article on fanboyism. Edit: Interesting comments out there. Hopefully there'll be more as I'm feeling my way on whether I've got sufficient background material to write more about this.
For the purposes of making this poll neater, I'll will allow it to run for 2 weeks before closing it - so the poll will close on March 19.

be a fan or fanboy..it's up to you...that your choice...if you can support only one consoles...let's say ps3 for example..there's nothing wrong to be a fanboy and defend your own consoles from being dead...that what fanboys do....a fan can oly be applied to the user that have multiple consoles and not to worry if one of their consoles are being dead....or they who like to enjoy the world of gaming..but not interested in playing them..

I don't think that's the definition of fanboy.. IMO fanboy means a "die-hard" fan of something.. up to the point where they won't even acknowledge the flaws of a console/company even if it's obvious. This sort of person will always be on that company's side of the argument no matter what.. That's what I think I'd consider myself just a fan!

Just a problem though. Will someone identify him/herself as a fanboy if there're negative perception on this kind of person. Me? I'm just a fan. Although all of my handhelds are Nintendo's (as well as most of my games), I sometimes still hate Nintendo for their flaws. (I want mutimedia playback for my DS without paying 200+ for Play-Yan Micro, Nintendo! )

So for now, I guess I'll live with it while I continue my research on fanboyism.

lol... it's interesting how varied the ages of fanboys can be... while one might think that most fanboys are aged 10-18, I know that there are quite a few that are way above that age... all of them SONY lovers... (amazing how strong the SONY brand name is in Malaysia)...

Im a fan. Sometimes air-cond also. Kidding aside. Its not the love of the consoles. Its the love of the games. Nintendo keeps on making top-notch games. So signed me up. Im a fan for life.
