Recently i've bought myself a Modded XBOX 360 (2nd hand) and it seems we can connect to xbox live. But the seller can't guarantee on how long can i go online without ban. But so far so good, but now my wife kinda liked the Xbox Arcade games (which i have to pay ) and she wanna download more without getting ban. So we're thingking of unmodding it. But there's a question bump inside my head. Once I've unmodded my xbox can i still watch *cough* DVD movie ? I can't seem to find this answer nomatter where i've searched.

unless u had ur machine original registery firmware
those ori firmware is dedicated to ur machine only
every machine had diff registery firmware
unless the shop whre u bought still keeping the firmware
then there is no prob

Watching a pirated DVD is not a problem. I have an unmodded 360. I've tested it with "ahem" as well as original DVDs. No problem, but I suggest you not use it as a DVD player.

only sign-in to your XBL profile when you play original games. sure will never get ban

what you wish to do with another offline profile is up to you

You must realise that you are fighting against Ms and MS is not stupid.

Unmodded machine is for those Xbox Live lovers. If you don't like playing life then there is no point of getting it.

Each console have a special ms5 checksum key. once that key is ban there is no way you can unban.

i suggest you just get another unmod console and keep the modded console. trust me. it will be useful in the future.

Thank you for your insight. About the banning thing I've got details about it ..hehehe .. wahahha .. If get ban do they ban the profile as well ? If i switch my HDD to a unmodded XBOX my profile will be intact ?



The reason i'm using as a DVD player cuz I don't really have enough space already. I'm using my xbox+thumbdrive to watch movies and that includes DVD ... It's kinda a multimedia player. hahhaa ... is there any reasons why i shouldn't use it to watch DVD ?

then u will never get a chance to play game or watching dvd since there is no shop selling 360 lense

all modded X360 can be unmodded although you don't have the key. Just send it to ppl who knows how to do it.

I don think you can get back to live thru the console.
so you can only get the profile to another unmodded console...

i think modded 360 can't be unmodded...but how about change your dvd drive...because modded 360 just flashed the dvd drive right..no modchip
in that consoles..but don't believe me...jut my opinion..ask experts in this forum like djinn or virgil...

thats why from the first place buy the unmodded console liew..but cant blame u also marh cause may be u didnt know bout it...for me the safest way to get into live,get a new set..cause if u send ur 360 to some shop im afraid it will get wrong re-flashed technique...then ur 360 will get worst then before...just keep it modded...may be u can used it to play ehem games,buy another once for ori and xboxlive

I did seek for virgil's advice but he say's it's the first time he heard a person wanna unmod their xbox .. .. Djinn I really haven't got the chance to ask ... I really have to thank all of you for your comment. With all of your contribution I've got a very clear idea what I have to do. I might be considering to either sell or trade for a new unmodded xbox. So far that is pretty much the final conclusion I may see.

so now ... anyone wanna TRADE ...

Might be interested in buying yours depending on the chipset and age of item.

If you're unsure then don't give any comments that might confuse people. When I said it can be done, it surely can be done because I've done it a lot of times.

may be djinn know how to modded any kind of console , but he wont do that for sure...thats why gamers hideout only sell original ( genuine ) things from console , acc to the games.

He`s not modded kaki one lar....im so angry when people gossip bout him..haha !

Actually what i believe djinn is trying to do is to change ppl's mindset to play original. His vision is on a right track but majority of the public isn't.

I've realised the importance of playing Ori is when I was teaching my children buying ori Wii games and teaching them it's value. My kids learn to value games as it should be. It kinda put me to shame when i was playing *ahem* on xbox. That is partly one of the reason I wanna unmod it as well. Parents must set good example only kids will follow.

yea..its true...like me myself i admit playing or purchase the *ehem for my xbox360 before, but since end of last year i came to the shop ( gamers hideout ) it change me a lot...and now me kindda support the originals game and it worth it...thats why last 20th of february 2008 ill make a decision to purchased an elite falcon edition ( non modded of course ) from Gamers Hideout, so i can play it via online..and its fun from modded console....

so nowdays support genuine games and console
