Hmm how do you all practise your ear? how long did it took you to actually get it? when you hear the strings you know it's A D G or E, I think the most crucial part in being a guitarist is actually ear traning...

Anyone of you that has already this skill, mind to explain how you gotten it? and how long it took you?

First you need to get bitten by a guitar.. Or just get jabbed through your 5 fingers by the high E string of the guitar..

Then you'll faint.

Pagi esok bangun, realize you have super abilities .. One of which is, perfect ear training.

Why I know? ... Because I'm part of Area 69 .......... jeng jeng jeng.

its called "perfect pitch", when you can recognize any note by just hearing it.

you either have it, or you don't. learning it is possible, but it requires hours and HOURS of playing your axe EVERYDAY.

I know a guy who has it, and damn do i hate him. learns stuff so damn fast.

I still can hardly tell which note it is yet, not accurate doh.gif

many ppl can do this, just dont too rely on tabs, and start figure it the chords, then slowly practice and learn, it takes time, but worth it..

no offence either to anyone out there, but I'm not so convinced on this one just yet.
large majority of malaysian players that i meet (chinese, indian, malay, whatever) tend to focus so much on the technical side of playing that they lack feel and groove.

sure, you can play malmsteen, vai, petrucci, satriani.
Sure, you can shred at 200bpm.

But if there's no feel/groove/"touch" behind the music, I think it sounds completely worthless.
