I don't know if its mentioned here before but for Windows users(Vista users firstly, since XP support comes once Vista compatibility is completed)

it looks a very interesting explorer shell replacement, as a mac gui lover, i find it much better looking than the current windows explorer shell!!

its still in development and testing tho, but it is one project to look out for!!

here's a brief summary taken from their website:

"Cairo is a revolutionary desktop environment for Windows. Our goal is to develop a desktop experience that increases productivity and advances current technology standards. With a focus on stability, performance, and productivity, Cairo aims to deliver an interface which will exceed expectations and deliver ease of use."

I have to say the screenshots are looking very impressive, especially the Leopard-like coverflow file preview implemented in the explorer window....
can't wait for xp support personally, hehehe

The team working on this deserves plenty of credit for their hardwork!! go to their forums and leave some feedback!!

An update. Seems like there has been some drama involved in the development. The main developer "abandoned" cairoshell team. And they had to start over zero, literally.
But they're close to an alpha version right now.
So keep on the lookout for this.

cairoshell.com

they plan to release vista version first, then they'll port it to XP.
