Why did coconut battery show the age of my macbook to be 123 months?

How do i add the icon at the bar to minimise everything from the desktop into the icon and if I want them to appear again, to click on the icon.

1. Try to calibrate your battery
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=86284

2. Try right-clicking then Force Quit or just ' End Process ' from Activity Monitor.

3. I've never heard of such a feature but I normally just use F9.

thanx
i solved all except the last one

i saw it once where they demonstrated that the desktop was very messy
then at the click of a button, everytime went into a folder that was located on the bar.

for all of them to appear again, you just got to click the folder.

@schizophrenic,
Are u looking for that feature "Show Desktop"?

System Preference --> Dashboard & Expose --> Under Keyboard Shortcuts for Desktop decide which hotkey u want and u would have set it.

PS: I'm on Tiger but I think Leopard would be the same smile.gif

no
that merely pushes all the windows aside.

i was referring to the icons on the desktop.

by the way, how do i remove an installation?
under windows i go to uninstall but for mac?

Added on March 5, 2008, 10:43 amAlso, how do i set for a program to open on start up?

if it is on the bar then it can. how about those in my applications directory?

After calibrating the battery, coconut battery shows the age to be 123 months when in coconut identity card, it shows the laptop to be manufactured between end of jan to early feb 2008.

thanx

is it stack function that u r referring to??? unsure.gif

to remove installed apps, u juz drag and drop it in the bin... if the apps have an uninstall executable file, then uninstall it like windows do... but i dont think most of the apps have an uninstall file... sweat.gif

i think you need to check in the startup disk utility... correct me if im wrong... notworthy.gif

@schizophrenic,
I act missed the last post U made *oopS* Yeah I think ur referring to the 'Stack' function; it's NEW to Leopard hence.. well, just go figure it - am sure u can set it up at System Preferences; just need to locate it *grins*

Y would u want a program to open on start up? U have the option to do that on some programs in the different program/application's preference. I don't know how else it can be done; but U probably can use Automator. Check out Mac 101: Automator for more information.

As to your battery, perhaps U could check with the Store? You perhaps also want to start monitoring its health & charge; if anything goes wrong or sudden drop in charge/health perhaps U wanna get it replaced? *grins*

@almattitude_v1,
I just haven't made the time and effort to get it. Will probably hi-jack a friend's MB this weekend to check Leopard out smile.gif

@schizophrenic,
Are U referring to the 'Charge' stats? I'm not too sure if mine's ever reached 100% [don't think so since 10% would mean it's completely 100% - even new stuff won't be perfect right?!] but it hovers between 98% and 99%.

@schizophrenic,
If everything is in order then just leave it be - or if u really cannot stand seeing it at 123 months then either stop looking *grins* or get it replaced ! smile.gif
