Taking cue from the GW magazine, what are your guilty pleasures? In terms of music, movies, books, and anything else... (legal or NOT legal brows.gif )

Guilty pleasures?

Ashley Tisdale and Hilary Duff. tongue.gif

I also watch musicals like Hairspray, Phantom of the Opera (which if you think about it, is soooooooooooooo metal. A deranged deformed Stalker who's fixated with a pretty girl who lives in a cave with an awesome organ? Brutal), and The Producers. Oh. I always watch High School Musical 1+2 whenever I'm bored.

For me, besides liking some Nu Metal, Punk, Emo and even Techno, I really enjoy listening to all those extremely sad songs..

Blacktrix, I can't stand High School Musicals, can't believe you even watch them repeatedly! LOL

Jikolo, if they charge you cheap then you should probably visit them more! smile.gif

Everdying, whats up with Kelly Clarkson??

watching musicals like hairspray is not considered guilty pleasure....right?
*silence*
*frogs croaking*

haha. my friends will tell you how they hate it when i crank up HAIRSPRAY soundtrack in my car so often! (but then again, they also complain once i play meshuggah, CoB, dragonforce, etc).

i watch alot of musicals, listen to all sorts of music including rnb, pop and some techno, and i also do read lots of magazines including fashion n girl mags (but usually i dont buy them as all my money goes to GAS).

No lah...... Your guilty pleasure should be playing a Les Paul tongue.gif

And I watch High School Musical just for the Ashley Tisdale parts......
Mmmmmmmmmmm. Ashley Tisdale.

But you'd be surprise by what you can learn from Pop songs. They are after all POPular music and have some great hooks that you can use for your riffs. Heck, Sam Totman listens to lots of pop music for ideas.

Wow, then to make an album they must have listened to over 1000 pop songs?

Anyway, about cartoons, I really like X-men the animated series. Too bad the series stop just over 5 seasons. My friends thinks its childish! But its the most sophisticated cartoons I've ever watched. Erm.. I haven't watch Metalocalypse yet though..

I think better clarify what a guilty pleasure is.

A guilty pleasure is something that you are normally ashamed of, but really enjoy doing.
For example, Everyone here basically knows I listen to Metal a TON. I Play Metal, buy Metal guitars and stuff like that.
But then at the same time, I like listening to pop, which is so farrrr away from Metal, it's almost guilty.

It's something that you really really like, but feel guilty about it.

Imagine if you kind out Kerry King likes Hello Kitty. Wouldn't that be pretty embarrassing and guilty?

Er, that's not a guilty pleasure.
More like music you are ashamed of listening.

Oh yeah, I can add Kanye West's Stronger to my list. God, I can't stop listening to that song!
