Thanks in advance bro Alex, can you share with me what is the sizes used in this trip. I would like to gauge the weight and thus i know what jig to bring... smile.gif

FYI, i'll be jigging and part-time bottom.

Long time never do bottom liao. Last time i did bottom was with bro Chun and i caught a nice size pipi tebal. That was at least 3~4 years ago at P.Angsa. And before that, dunno how many years i didnt do bottom liao.. smile.gif I need you to refresh me ok? smile.gif

BTW, can i stand on the boat to do jigging?
*
To be exact, it was in 12th March 2006... not so long back only lar... hehehe

Here are some pics to "refresh" your memory a bit

Here's the pipi tebal..

any sifu know about the prawn pond in sentul? I mean the direction...  hmm.gif
btw, sifu rory.... Is my t-shirt still with you?

Bro , I think u referring to the saltwater paypond near my place in batu caves. Saw my frens there once before.. a bit expensive la... per hour charge... hehe

refer to this google map

http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=3.20042...6,0.035963&z=15

&

Following the map, if you coming from sentul (from kl), go pass the sentul pasar all the way straight only until u pass a chinese school on your right then keep left on traffic light - > go straight somemore (don't turn right to setapak) towards batu caves. Then u'll see the fishing place on your right (usual paypond crappy roads shakehead.gif and lots of fluorescent lights) go front a bit to u-turn towards it.

Happy fishing/prawning icon_idea.gif

ohh....smile.gif You already know the answer.. smile.gif

It's the technique...not the hardware.. smile.gif

Casting a BC is not like spinning where we can do hard cast.. BC is soft and using lesser strength to achieve the distance...that is one of the difference in BC and spinning
*
Sifu Geon, Sometimes the lure also matter lar... like my Favorite toman lure (that day kena hentam untill hook bengkok, & lepas the big toman vmad.gif ) can cast very far... i put brake to #2 still can cast, despite the light weight.... that's one of the reasons y it's my favorite also la.. thumbup.gif

My other Heavier Storm long lip diver (high wind resistance, n also lure weight balance ) put brake #4-6 still sometimes CBH wan... mad.gif

Hi sifu chun,

I think u very good using lure casting... now i'm learning use lure to cast toman, peacock bass... but i never success..
do u hav any tactics or diagram to learn proper casting....
*
Hi TMY kia, I not that good also lah... the best Lure sifu around is Sifu Rorytate... total lures in his lure boxES can fit my room also.... drool.gif hahahaha

Don't mind me asking, Are you using spinning reel or baitcaster reel? if using BC reel then need a bit more skill lo... spinning just mind hentam only.... tongue.gif

No use for diagram and tactics wan la... most important still PRACTICAL practice...icon_idea.gif hehehehe

sifu... keep me up updated la k...

oh... quick FR at laguna last thursday from about 5.30pm-7.30pm Since got some time to kill, nothing to do and was around that area... Naik Harga Leh! RM10 now! KNN...

Anyways... made the "Renowed" super dedak (with plastic bag, since never bring pail)... And surprisingly after few cast onto nearby splashes.. Hook-on! break fruit... but kucimiao la...

Long story short, landed 3 Pacu's with ever-effective super dedak... but all kucimiao la... less than 1KG... so not much fight lo... but at least no eat fruit la... so i think afternoon still ok la... especially when flooded and all.

but my hands still itchy for tomans

Bro Chun,

Yeah i agree it does looked sharp. Unlike the Berkley lip gripper, it open sideways, this Rapala Weigh 'n Lock bends inwards.

Sort of like barb of our hooks. BTW, i got some carbon treble hooks for your favourite Cultiva Gobo Pencil. Your Cultiva Gobo Pencil have been opening up when fighting with big fishies.... Recent example at Sg Tinggi.. smile.gif
*
Wah... Cool... thank you thank you notworthy.gif

Sg Tinggi? where's that? the last place we went to called Sg. Tinggi meh?

Yea lo, my applause also can fit 200m of 30lb colour colour line, which i think is thinner than Powerpro 30lb la... so i think this reel is slightly bigger and got power handle lor... and looks nicer also la.. drool.gif

applause 4000 a bit too small for jigging, no power handle, crank like crazy the last time go p9. that Big eye also cannot swim liao, like dead weight also dam gau hard want to reel 'em in.... i think best choice still FreamJ ...

QUOTE(rorytate @ May 7 2008, 04:18 PM)
The part that i dont like the reel is about the handle...Bro Ice is right, it rubs against your thumb and will cause blister when jigging...

Bro Q,
That reel is not that big ler...even Bro Chun's Applause is filling in near 200m only ler...also size 4000

Shimano size 4000 is also filling up similar to Ryobi what...

Best is to get Daiwa....my Cy4000 fills in 300m of 40lb TUF line....damn syiok

Added on May 7, 2008, 4:19 pmBro Vw,

I'll be suiciding myself in AG for 2 days~

15lb or 20lb(i dont remember~) power pro and my STX is without much drag even at full....
