WTF man.... new thread and all spam?

I've a suggestion. Should we put some important links for gundam such as gundamofficial, mahq, gunota etc on the first page so that fellow gundam fans can have easy access to information around the web?

And if possible, it'll also be nice to list out all Gundam series in chronological order and of course divided accordingly to its respective Universe.

I don't mind doing it since it's just a simple copy and paste URL task... but will need firedauz's help to alter the first post.

Using the Gundam rule, anyone who wasn't shown in the anime to die via explosion/decapitation/stabbed/chopped in cockpit has a chance to be resurrected.

Not sure about Seabook in Xbone though... never read that before... was he truly shown to be sliced into half? If not, he has every chance to survive.

Ask Fukuda and his team of writers... Mwu is dead in GS... he was only brought back to life after they edited the helmet thingy in the special edition of GS. Andrew... well, I have no bloody idea why too... did a beam go through his body? If it's just explosions that surrounded him, he's still pretty much intact by the Gundam rule.

After all, how did Kira survive Aegis' blast when the cockpit and chair was melted into semi-liquid?
Because 1. he didn't get decapitated/beam-pierced. 2. his helmet didn't fill up with blood.

Hehe... this is why some UC elitists hate AU coz of the indestructible armour.

I can accept the fact that the AU armour is able to block bullets eg Leo's rifle, but beams should cut though those armour easily unless coated with antibeam layer. The Tauruses sliced Deathsycthe and Shenlong easily with their beam rifles.

Then again, GX and DX got hell lots of beam shots from the Frost brothers and didn't even get destroyed

TallGeese's beam sabre didn't manage to penetrate Heavyarms' torso when Zechs slashed it repeatedly, and that surely WTFed Zechs... otherwise Heero would have been vaporised and the show will end there

It's pretty obvious from the start that Rey is a Raw/Mwu clone... they didn't specifically say it, but it couldn't get any less obvious.

And the first second I saw Neo I shouted, "MMMMMWWWWWWWWUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!"

The best is still Gilbert, my first impression was "CCCCCCCHHHHHHAAAAAAAARRRRRRRR !!" thanks to his seiyu... that has got to be the most memorable and sexy voice in the whole of Gundam.

Aisha? Well she did nothing except dying Ok that's harsh, but she wasn't of any importance in the show hehe...

I'll appreciate whoever comes and gives us an explanation about Hathaway's Flash since that novel is quite obscure. In fact, I'm not sure whether it's canon or not despite being written by Tomino. As for the video games, I don't think they can be taken that seriously.

First up, where did you get the Unicorn news? Some of my friends were saying that too but I couldn't find any sources online... My opinion is that there won't be an OVA/Movie in the near future since the novel is scheduled all the way till 2009... So there's more than a year's time to go before the story ends.

Seriously, I have no idea how the story has developed so far. The only thing I know from quick browsing and forum surfing is that Barnage and his Unicorn has been captured by Full Frontal's forces.

I'm pretty interested in the Laplace System as no one knows what exactly it is. A Zero system like computer program? Or just a bunch of top secret files that holds the key to the so-called "mystery" of Universal Century? Absolutely no idea. And since the year is set in 0096, would it span all the way till 0100 where Zeon surrenders and gets integrated back into EF?

Hathaway... not sure whether I want him to be in Unicorn or not. He's Katz MKII... who the heck shoots at his ally in the battlefield? And worse still, he shoots a immobilised ReGZ instead of a full functional opponent. Damn... at least he did better in Belthorchika's Children where he took down Quess' Alpha Azeiru even though it was a fluke shot like his downing of Chan.

3. It'll be Char-Amuro all over again... Meaning Lalah will once again play a role... let her rest in peace ler
4. Char will get his ass kicked perpetually by Amuro... damn it let him win for once lah...

At the moment we have no idea how powerful the Unicorn can be. Late UC units have the Minovsky Drive tech which enables the mecha to fly/float in the atmosphere. We don't know for sure whether Unicorn's mechas can do that or not. I don't think Unicorn mechas are overpowered at the moment since they are pretty much a continuation of CCA units. Psychoframe tech is already budding by 0093 hence Anaheim should have advanced within 3 years.

Don't underestimate the technology in F91. It outmanoeuvred, outran, and outgunned everything it went up against. Chances are it might be stronger than Unicorn era suits.
Same with Victory suits where agility pwns brute force.

0083's units overwhelm those seen in Z... and the excuse is that the entire Gundam Project was swept under the carpet.

A simple reason will suffice in bridging the tech gap... Maybe Laplace wiped out the remaining history of early UC?

As I've said, we don't know the full capabilities of the Unicorn era MSes yet to make a decision. They could easily be more powerful than late UC, or the other way round.

Late UC mechas are horrendously overpowered when compared to their small size. The VSBRs of F91 cuts through almost everything, while V2 has beam wings which disable units which flies through the Minovsky particle field. Not forgetting that such a small unit like V2 can generate enough output to levitate the mecha as well as power the Assault-Buster pack + beam shields + VSBR (unused in anime though). And if that's not crazy enough, the Zanneck's particle cannon scorches Earth like the Ion Cannon from C&C.

0083... well apart from the Dendrobium/Nuel Ziel which is a one-man-army, the only indication that the mecha surpasses early Zeta units is their spec sheet. In fact, the MKII and Hyaku Shiki are underpowered machines considering the fact that EF had so much technology on their side in 0083. GP01 is just a normal Gundam with higher output, in fact the Alex should be a better machine as it has slightly higher acceleration and maneuverability. GP02... it's pretty useless without the nuke despite the amazing generator output.

The point is, we can only speculate about Unicorn era suits.
My speculation is that they will be (and should) slightly more powerful than CCA units yet not quite devastating as late UC suits.
Grunts aside, the Kshatriya is pretty much a Queen Mantha + Quebeley hybrid so it should be a formidable foe, Unicorn's basic mode is quite mediocre and its Destroy mode's capabilities are still less well known. Sinanju? We have no idea about its potential... It could pretty much be like the Sazabi, i.e. commander suit with nothing much to show off except higher output thrusters and weapons.

I won't be surprised if the Sinanju opens up the armour and bling-blings its psychoframe. After all it is one of the prototype suits which preceded the Unicorn.

One thing worth mentioning is that the tech advancement from the very beginning i.e. 0079 onwards is absolutely fast. The old suits like RX78 and even Zakus only have 1/2 or even 1/4 outputs of the later suits of Z, ZZ and CCA while the weight of the mechas are not that much different.

To be fair, in most gundam series the factions involved will always churn out new and more powerful mechas.
The main criticism now for 00 is that the surprises keep on coming just to turn the tide towards one side, then show off crazy pwning skills, and few episodes later some secret is unlocked and shifts the advantage back to the original faction. Where the heck is the storyline + character development?
