It's uncertain whether CDA is canon or not, but it really does add substance into post-0080.

Zero the R... well it's not that hard to believe since Neo Zeon is famed for producing large MAs. They did later produce the Neul Ziel for Gato, then the Queen Mantha; later Char's NZ made the alpha Azeiru as well.

As for the paedophile claims, I don't really buy that. It's just people making fun of Char - asking one for her age doesn't mean that he's interested sexually in her. In fact in CDA it's most of the girls which include the various Zeonic lieutenants who throw themselves at Char instead of the other way round.

I'd say it's more like a one-sided infatuation from Haman's perception rather than anything else. How did Haman change into a psychotic maniac? Katejina showed that it's possible, if anything Katejina is even worse and more crazy. And don't forget she was pushed to her maximum potential as a newtype from a very young age... even though she's a natural newtype it's possible she might be emotionally unstable similarly to the cyber newtypes.




The facts in CDA doesn't really have to be accepted as the hard and fast rule since it's not official canon material. Nevertheless it fits in the gap nicely (apart from M'quve of course) so I'm quite ok with that. More absurd stuff would be the horrendously large and powerful MAs of the AoZ era which mysteriously disappeared in Zeta.

Standing together and taking photos don't mean that there is something serious going on. Of course, without canon material about the gap between 0080 and 0087 we have no idea what Haman and Char did back then. Our best bet now is of course the complete storyline of CDA yet we all know it's not necessarily canon either. For what it's worth, Char showed no signs of serious commitment to any other female characters as his Achilles' heel is still his infatuation for Lalah. Maybe he did fool around with Haman just for the sake of achieving his aims, we all know he's capable of such dirty mind tricks... At the end of the day, all we can do is speculate

The Haro is indeed vague, but it's not that hard to make out the shape of the Zaku, is it? The right shoulder shield, left shoulder armour, and the pipe at the left leg.

Some even claimed that the brown haired dude beneath Char and Sayla is Letz but that's too far fetched. I don't buy that though.

OMG... now there's more and more character correlation coming up... I think the confirmed ones would be Char, Sayla, Katz, and Kikka. Others are barely recognisable.

And don't make it sound as if I'm THAT crazy about Haman. I know my fact from my fiction, and at the end of the day she's merely an anime character who doesn't even exist in real life. Well she's the only female UC character who has such a complexed character and background, Sayla did have much potential to be developed but she was forgotten in Zeta and vanished after that. Berah could have been much elaborated too considering her background and role in Crossbone but we all know what happened to F91.

She ain't exactly that cruel and evil. Cold hearted, manipulative, ambitious, and backstabber would be the best description; but she wasn't purely evil among the ranks of Gihren, Bask Om, Karozzo, even Ginias. At least at the end of ZZ she realised the origin of her dark side, i.e. her hatred, and hence rammed herself into Judau's blades.

At she wasn't a brat like Quess was.

And I'm hoping to see whether Mineva reveals what actually happened to her after ZZ... stayed tuned for Unicorn.

Anyway, if Saji is going to pilot something it better not be a Gundam. If everyone pilots a gundam it'll spoil everything just like GSD where gundams are no longer unique. Gundam used to be unique and iconic, now it's just a fancy name for any mobile suit with two eyes.

Allelujah will surely have an important role with Marie/Soma. Possibly from the same cybernewtype enhanced soldier institute? Maybe, and it'll be good to see the tension between them if they were to pair up as rivals. If he dies, I hope he dies at the hands of Soma.

We already have 2 new gundams showing up in season 2... Tieira and Allelujah will most likely get new toys, so that makes 4. Just let Dynames die... everyone is having gundams for fun

All the 5 GAT-Xs got upgrades, and I must say not all of them look nice. I prefer the original 5 than the upgraded ones... the new ones are just a competition to see who can carry the largest and biggest backpacks and gear.

It was quiet because none of the discussions about the aftermath went for long. How many people even attempted to contribute to that topic?
Now that redeye started a new one about railguns, hopefully it can go on for sometime.

I was wondering, can a rail gun charge a beam shot with magnetic fields to make it go faster and fire more rapidly? It might be a hard one to answer since there's no real-life "beam" gun and GN/Minovsky particles are just fictional hoohah, but can a magnetic field actually affect the efficacy of a beam rifle? In CE rail guns such as the ones used by Freedom and Duel fire projectile shells rather than beams so it's easier to fathom.

Rail guns are not exactly useless in CE. Even though projectile weapons will not scratch PS armour, the momentum of the shells can be strong enough to cause a concussion to the pilot or even knock the entire MS away from its path. Kira shot the Abyss in the water using the railguns, beams would have dissipated underwater. Don't forget that even though PS blocks physical attacks, the sheer mass and momentum of a weapon such as hammers would be able to overwhelm and break the joints of a MS.

I didn't say rail guns CAN affect beams, I'm just asking a hypothetical question. Looking at the fictional physics of beam sabres, Minovsky particles held together in a blade-shaped area confined by magnetic fields. So it means that a strong enough magnetic field might be able to affect the spread of M-particles. My question was whether this concept can be used in beam shot railguns or not.

And in Gundam (UC at least), beam rifles are not exactly "light" weapons like lasers are. Beam rifles fire concentrated M-particles which are stored in e-caps/e-pacs, and a fixed quantity of particles are fired in every shot. So it's easier to imagine beam rifle shots firing individual bursts of energy (shots) rather than a typical laser/light weapon which fires a continuous stream of light energy. GM snipers in 08th MST fire those weapons though, yet they are not the typical beam rifles we see.

This discussion was held before in mechatalk, but in the end no real conclusion was made since it's all pretty much a fictional thing anyway.
Some of the points made back then in mechatalk was that M-particles "should" travel in lightspeed or at least near lightspeed (since we don't have anything other than real light that can travel that fast), so there shouldn't be any lag time between the firing of a beam shot and the impact of the round.

What I found interesting while reading 0079 novel is that mechas duel each other in a large distance radius. What we see on screen is that the two mechas are pretty much within each other's reach, or the very most few hundred metres; but the actual distance is actually few kilometres away. This means that two mechas exchanging shots at each other are usually shooting at a target which is virtually a tiny dot on the screen. Of course, a few km shouldn't make any difference to a beam travelling at light speed.

My opinion on this is that beam shots, i.e. M-particle rounds, don't necessarily travel at light speed... maybe the magnetic repulsion or whatever that projects the round itself causes so much friction that it slows the beams down; or possibly the beam rounds themselves lose so much energy (as it ionises the air around it) the moment it leaves the gunbarrel that it only travels at sub-light speed. Still, it's definitely ultra-fast compared to normal shells or bullets; that's why only newtypes can sense incoming beams before it hits them

1, 2 km is considered as "close range" for the mechas. If you consider the fact that each battleship is a couple of hundred metres long and in a typical space skirmish there's usually an entire fleet present, the scale of the battle itself can be horrendously huge.

Minovsky particles are enigma since they don't exist anyway. They do all sorts of weird stuff in the gundam universe, but at least wiki has an entire entry to explain it (in fictional terms of course). GN particles and also Mirage Colloid however are not exactly well elaborated but I reckon they probably have the same uses as the M-particle i.e. a beautiful excuse for fancy tech stuff in anime.
