You can try "Be My Guest" Guest House (Beside BP Grand Suite Hotel).. 520bath per night & the hotel came with free wifi. Just 10 minutes to lee garden & 5 minutes to kan eng restaurant. The room i would give 9/10 for its cleaness. I think it's very worth it.

Hotel , I recommend Sakol , 1 room around 60/night

No need tour van , just take tut tut around Rm2 for nearby , if go to the outskirt some might charge 3-4.

I'm not sure about be my guest , but sakol & pink lady is very close to city . Not even 2 minutes walk lol

I would suggest Sakol tho , more quiet

Day 1:

8.30AM : Reach 1 of the big parking lot and duty free shop at Changlun. Some people park their car here and take a cab to Thai. Many bus will stop here for
their passenger to pee too. You can buy cheap liquor here (it's cheaper than the duty free complex) BUT after you buy, you cannot direct take it.
They will sent it to the Malaysia border, and once you reach the Malaysia border, then only you take from them. I also had the worst ever Jawa mee
here. Conclusion? DON'T EVER eat here. You can buy some liquor here to bring over to Thailand since it's cheaper than there, but prepare to wait for
awhile (around 10minutes for me) if what you buy did not reach earlier at the Malaysia border than you.

9.10AM : Pass by Malaysia border. Park my car at the duty free complex. Remember not to leave the parking ticket at your car. The traffic from the Malaysia
border to the Duty Free complex is usually crawling speed before 11AM as many lorry and bus are entering during this time.

11.15AM : YES, I freaking wait 2 hours for me to clear the customs. Standing there for 1 hour and 45minutes! Freaking crazy. If you are lucky and willing to
pay, some runner will approach you and you pay them like RM5 to cut queue =.=' . It will be easier if you use border pass as you are able to clear
faster. However, too bad so sad, no runner's approach me. =.=' . [Don't forget the RM1 tip inside your passport when you pass by the Thai Custom]

11.20AM : Have a nice lunch at Ped's Restaurant. The food here
is awesome. It's on the 3rd lorong on your right if not mistaken.

12.00PM : Unwilling to wait to share a van to Hatyai, we take a cab instead. A toyota Yaris, cost us 600bath and take 1hour + to reach our hotel in Hatyai.

1.10PM : Check in is very slow for us even though we already pay earlier. Take like 20minutes.

If you're driving car might as well drive to hatyai if you're going to hatyai.

Journey is around 1hour

Van is below RM20 per person 1 way (cannot remember how much) Need to wait till van full.

Don't think you can load all your shopping in Note that van sometimes will make detours

Does anyone in the group went there before ? If not mistaken the price for minivan is around rm13 , not really sure.

If you're from penang , I suggest you go by van from Penang , really hassle free

After you reach there can just use their tuk tuk which costs 20-30baht per person per trip

Usually 3-4 hours can reach hatyai already.
Around 1.5 hours to border / half hour for crossing customs . 1 hour from border to hatyai

Really not sure about the budget hotels, depending on the time when you're going (holiday or festival time)

If can best to book advance as some of the budget hotel are hard to comunicate
