personally i prefer hatyai than bangkok. the food is more suitable to malaysian ..

massage in hatyai 2 hours 250 baht or 300 baht.

in bangkok.. 1hours = 200 baht

Hatyai/Songkhla for the southern beach experience. Southern Thai food is more closer to our pallet, the dish is "nearly" identical.

Bangkok is a great place for Thai metropolitan experience. If Issan food is your thing it is still the best to eat them in Bangkok ( Somtam, Larb etc). Food quality in Issan region is abit of a let down, all high quality raw food are sold to the capital. Pricing is a tad higher then other changwat of Thailand but of course, this is the capital.

BTW learn to speak Thai, there is so much to discover in Hatyai alone if u speak Thai and go to places where the owner does not speak a word of your language. Get away from Hatyai city center( Lee Garden area) and venture into all the Soi surronding them on foot or motorsai, you will be surprise.

start from youtube. thaiwithmod search this name at you tube, it is a great place to start for beginner.

still the fastest method is having friend who speak fluent thai who you can practice with constantly. And then thai movies, tv, song.

Yes u can.

AIS 12call, DTAC, True. Pick anyone you like buy it at phone shop. 711 depends on store some refuse to help u register, activate the line and plan, all the want to do is sell the simpack. They will need your ID to register your number, it is compulsory by Thai law.

There is also TRUE Tourist Sim that u can buy at airport.

Top up can be bought at 711, or vending machine outside of most 711, some petrol station and some restaurant, u need to know your phone number and can choose english menu from machine apart from Thai, Laos, Cambodian and Burmese.

For extended trip, u need to add fuel cost of thailand into the equation.

and also insurance, thai insurance we buy only insured 3rd party. For peace of mind, please check with your own car insurance if can pay extra to cover thailand.

4D3N is too damn long to spend at Hatyai alone unless u add in Songkhla.

The distance is a concern, for me Hatyai is not really 'worth it' if you have to drive all the way from KL, for us who lives in north ok la laugh.gif

Padang to Hatyai that is a very respectable distance. salute.

Songkhla i had not been there for a good 10 years, but what i heard now is people going to the zoo, the beaches ( not picturesque Koh Lipe type), and of course seafood.

Ko Yo ,an island in the edge of Songkhla Lake near the sea, thai radio kept intro this place last year, never been there also.
