Hey guys, have some questions. If my friend helps me get an iPhone from the US now, the firmware has to be 1.1.4 right? Is there
a way of checking? Also, how do I know the bootloader and baseband versions?
If it's 1.1.4, I just have to follow the above steps right? As in, download ziPhone v2.5c, connect the iPhone using the USB dock to my laptop and just click do it all?
Sorry, totally clueless on all this. Appreciate your help!

guys, i got a question. how much will i be taxed if i were to ask someone to buy an iphone from us and courier it to me?
A lot! Haha, that's all I will say, I wanted to the same but after doing some research, found out that SIRIM+customs tax will cost you about RM4-500, not including your wasted time and costs to travel here and there to SIRIM and KLIA. Customs are smart as well, they know an iPhone when they see one! IMO, it's just not worth the risk to courier it back here.
It's just not worth it, you might as well get it from local sellers if you wanna courier. About the same price, maybe cheaper, can check the phone for problems and if the seller's nice, he'll unlock for you as well. If your friend's coming back to Malaysia, ask him to carry it on him and use as a personal belonging.
