If u just put anything in the APN ... u won't do anything. BossPref works because it disable the service for EDGE. I u notice ... when u enable or disable EDGE ... u will loose the phone signal for a while then it comes back.

If u really want to save batt ... then just switch on airplane mode. But if people want to call then can't get thru. Thats the trade off.

If you're not using it at all, why don't you turn it off?

Since the only purpose the device stay on standby is to serve as a 24/7 phone.
*
So that u can just turn off the airplane mode and straight use the phone. If u off then have to wait for the phone to start. Some people don't need it to be 24/7 on phone. So this can save some power to cater to those people since the radio part of the phone is off.

How the EDGE coverage in KL or around Klang Valley? My office gonna change the lines to Digi (now have to tell others of the new number ... hmph) with the unlimited data plan. I've never used EDGE before as never see any need for it (before iPhone).

Any feedbacks from other Digi users are also appriciated regarding the speed of connection with iPhone. If good then my personal number gonna get bump to the old phone. Using the office number in iPhone and surf surf surf.

Frozzy,

"Excellent" comes to mind. I have not tried it with Maxis to give it a diret comparison, but it has never failed me while im searching and updating the apps in my iPhone. My definition of "Excellent" may differ from yours or others, but it works for me, while im on my semi-hectic schedules around town.

Anything heavier and i have either TMNET Hotspot, or Airzed to cover me on that part.
*
Well that sounds pretty good as EDGE can't achive speed greater or same as WiFi/Hotspot.

1)Well all my concern is can I actually set appointments easily on the Iphone ?
As easy as 1, 2, 3. U can set or sync to and from pc or mac.
2) Can the iphone work as a phone and Ipod ? Is the sound quality good ?
Dude ... its a phone and an ipod. Unless your question means something else. Sound wise ... invest in a good quality earphones as the stock one gives a so so sound.
3) Is the phone reliable ? Does it hang often ?
Its the most reliable phone if compare with any Win Mobile device since u used dopod. Which computer never hangs.
4) Any problem with the phone ?
Only problem i can see is that u can't part away even for a few sec from the phone. biggrin.gif

Maybe u should go to this Guided Tour to know more of the features. If u ask any iPhone owner ... u can only see smiles from their overjoyed face.

I've been using Digi's EDGE since they started the Unlimited Data Plan many years ago. Excellent service.
U'll be surprised. I've experienced single n double digit speeds at wifi spots like Starbucks.  sweat.gif  Must be sum inconsiderate ppl playing video n download stuff.  Anyway, ever since I started using EDGE I hardly even bother to switch on my devices to WIFI unless I'm at home using my own network.
*
How come i forgot about u ianho ... loyal Digi user. Hehehehe. Btw when u use EDGE ... does it tax on the battery life compared to wifi that needs to run on its own radio signal. And boy do we know how wifi suck the living daylight of the battery.

I just got back from Pertama Complex. Found one shop selling iphone. He quoted RM1850 for the 8Gb and RM2250 for 16Gb. That is before the 'tawar-menawar' or bargaining. So any phone that exceed that price will be considered as overpriced as they also get their stock from lowyat forumer (IMHO). If u can ge that price outside at phone shops .. what more to say from forum.

Stop waiting for the 3G version and just buy the phone. U won't regret it. Now people complaint the phone lack 3G ... later when the 3G comes out ... we will hear more complaints. This don't have that don't have. People will never satisfied with what they have. Buy what u need not what u want. If u can wait patiently in the endless loop of waiting cycle ... then be my guest.

the safari is an excellent mobile browser. with 3g, the iphone will be "liberated" to run wild on the internet ahahahaha

i wud buy an iphone with 3g.
*
And with EDGE it's not "liberated" to run wild on the internet? Dude ... have u tried using EDGE on the phone?

At first i was sceptical about EDGE's speed but when i tried it ... its quite decent. Somethimes i think its better than those public WiFi with all those bandwidth hoggers. If u want to talk about 3G .. my friend have a 3G phone with unlimited data plan and he says it suck big time. He just turn around and walk few feet and lost the HSDPA signal and it revert to GPRS .... yes ... GPRS. Thats way slower that EDGE. If we live somewhere in UK or Japan than we can boast about 3G.

Aiyak ... if u poke deep oso no problem. U can't reach the speaker drum or whatsoever. I know coz i've open the cover before. There's a mesh like thingy to cover the hole. I did test the speaker without the cover and it is loud. Like spoonkin said .. just a lil bit only to poke the mesh cover and its already proven in thread v2 or v3 last time. This poking thing is old scholl already.

The speaker is for ringtones and loudspeaker only. Not for playing music. Some people want it loud coz sometimes they can't hear the ringtone or the speakerphone too soft. Not for playing loud music like in the car. Mcm org pekak.

Guys, got a problem. Everytime I connect my iPhone to iTunes, on my iPhone's page the 'Manually manage music & videos' box always uncheck while I've already checked it before. Therefore can't sync new music or videos and my current music & videos are grey out. Anyone encountered this matter before?
*
Mmmm ... i'm not facing this problem although i tried to recreate ur situation. Maybe updating iTunes should solve this.

Since ur already 1.1.4 OTB ... why do u want to restore back to 1.1.4? Waste of time. Plug it in and use iLiberty+ and it will do the rest (not recommend using ZiPhone). Better read up on iLiberty+ here. http://www.ipluspwns.com.

But its a good thing to download the IPSW file for safe keeping. Later no need to wait when u want to restore back.
