Thats mean only 10 person paid for the chosen seat. Others have/maybe book as well but they are not paying, so AA will give random seat when they checked in. Usually if they are low number of passenger on flight, AA will cancel the flight

i guess you can try to get your money back but AA is skilled at avoiding such things hahah. chances are they will cancel the flight and combine it with a later flight that day or the next day to make full use of the trip.

You may be new to AirAsia.

My uncle experienced same thing. His flight was canceled just because of "not enough passengers" and he was moved to later flight which is 6 HOURS later.
