Can I just buy XBox 360 controller from a console shop and use it on my PC?

Would it be cheaper that way?

That's not gonna work man.. they release the PC version controllers for a reason LOL! You can opt for wired XBOX 360 controllers or Wireless ones.

It is going to work. The PC version has a driver CD inside it which you can also download it from microsoft site.

I bought mine from the console shop and it's been working perfectly fine. not to mention cheaper too. no point wasting $$ to pay for the PC version.

I love how people say 'ZOMG , you can't use the Console version'. It shares the same IDs. You plug it and it worked

I managed to get a xbox 360 controller from a friend , for a week - just to play games. I plugged and played , poof it just works. Its from a console , nope its not a PC version

Good stuff, I will be getting whichever is cheaper.

If it's from the console, will just download the software from Microsoft website.

I'll probably head to Digimall these days to look for it.

Hopefully there are people selling RM90 for OEM, if so I probably buy 2.

Can't seem to find it in 1Utama, the shops only sells the wireless version.

The wireless version uses built-in batteries or AA batteries?

Been using the 360 Controller for PC for sometime already. I still recall, when I first bought it, games don't support it and no force feedback was available. I thought I had wasted my money on it. After sometime, the games started supporting it and finally force feedback. Now it is the "standard" for games...

Absolutely bestest gamepad for PC.

okay sorry for the katak bawah tempurung questions

1) does the wireless work without receiver or can we just get like those bluetooth mouse receiver to work with it?

2) if it's wireless, why is there extra kits to charge the wireless controller since someone mention it's using AA battery??

Good question, that can really save power. Hence, save the need to get new batteries every now and then.

xbox 360 wireless controllers ONLY works with the wireless receiver.

those AA batts are used for the controller only. there's no charging of the controller.
