I made a mistake once by selecting "Manually transfer blah blah blah"....
I couldn't get my ringtones onto the phone. Then I tried dragging the ringtones directly into the iPhone's ringtone folder... it got in.... but any additional ringtones added will erase the first one. heheheh.. Then i realised my mistake.... and unclick the "Manually transfer....", then it was smooth sailing all the way. By the way, managed to make ringtones up to 40seconds. Really difficult to make a cut within such a short frame time. |

actually i think the method still works, it is just that you MUST ensure that the file is 40 seconds or less. Or it just will not be recognised.
I'm running 1.1.4 and it works fine with files under 40 secs. |

QUOTE(blackchides @ Mar 31 2008, 01:02 AM) Hey, how did you change the file type from .m4a to .m4r? And what program should i set to open the file with? iTunes? after you "right-click" convert ... you should see a new file right below your list..click and drag that new file and drop it on your desktop/another folder where you can see the file extension ***.m4a . Delete this from the Itunes List then rename that file that you drag out to ***.m4r . (*just right click and rename it, don't need any software) when you done rename .. it should warn you about changing the file type... if you do not get this warning means you didnt change the file type but instead u change the file name only.... **so make sure u change the file type after that just double click and it will add into itunes automatically .. and then continue with the instruction |

I just realized that to change extension files have to go to my computer --> tools --> folder options --> uncheck "hide extension for known file types"click and drag that new file and drop it on your desktop/another folder where you can see the file extension ***.m4a . Delete this from the Itunes List then rename that file that you drag out to ***.m4r . (*just right click and rename it, don't need any software) when you done rename .. it should warn you about changing the file type... if you do not get this warning means you didnt change the file type but instead u change the file name only.... **so make sure u change the file type after that just double click and it will add into itunes automatically .. and then continue with the instruction Oh, and for some reason, it seems that for FW1.1.3 and above, you can only add one song at a time. Adding more than one song will not work, you'll just have multiple copies of the first song you put in. |
