on the boxes, it proudly says....made in malaysia...didnt say which state.

yeah...that's exactly my point.....am surprised because RM2500 is almost the price of the BD50 here

saw the S550 in the stores...they're still in the box...the thing that caught my eyes is that its MADE IN JAPAN!!

S350 are made in msia.

talked to sony's store personnel...the fella said the DVD region coding on the S350 can be modified to make it region-free....but not the S550.

only the DVD region coding..not the BD...which to me is a plus too...because it can replace my old dvd player

s350 is 295euro
s550 is abt 400euro..

guess store location is not that crucial to know eh?

both comes with blood diamond and batman begins BD

anyone know differences btwn the S350 and S550?

i only know the HD audio decoding part....anything else?

just in case this went unnoticed....

those sony...S350 and S550, the EXT USB port at the back.....it is indented and because of this...it limits those conventional USB thumb drive with bulky housing. one of the gimmick sony played with consumer to get us to buy their micro vault...i think kingston and transcend has similar format...and much cheaper than sony's.
