I bought this computer last month and I think it made the environment on the living room of my house hot comparing it to my old computer. I've been sweating a lot while using the current one.

Right now I'm using an e-MAG crap casing with one side of my casing open and this is my spec in details.

Asus P5K SE motherboard
Core2 Quad Q6600 (2.4Ghz, 8MB L2 cache, 1066mhz bus)
4x 1GB DDR2-800 (PC6400) Kingston RAM
Asus EN8800GT 512MB Bigfan (Geforce 8800GT)
Creative X-Fi Xtreme Audio
250GBx2 and 200GB Seagate SATA-2 hard disk
16x Samsung Writemaster DVD-RW
Enlight 550W Powertank PSU

I'm planning to put this computer to a room with air-conditioning when I move to my new house. Should I change the casing or add some fan or I just leave it alone? CPU runs at around 39-41 and motherboard runs at 48-51 celcius when I'm not playing game.

As modern computers become more powerful, they produce more heat. Change casing or adding more fan will not reduce the heat produced by ure cpu. Therefore u should concentrate on removing heat from ure room, which is air-conditioning.

Yea, my room became hotter compare to my brother's room which doesn't hv comp, even though the fan is switch on in my room doh.gif

Well, i think u can try using water cooling? I'm not sure whether tat will work cuz i've never tried b4. Or u can try to place ur pc in some rather open space e.g. near windows, don't trap it in a corner. But if near windows then hv to becareful when raining sweat.gif Just my 2 cents wink.gif

I know better computers produces more heat and I'm using a crap casing with manufacturer provided heatsinks for CPU and GPU.

Well I never overclock my computer and I just plan to change the casing or adding fans to it.

So I just need an air conditioning or moving it to better ventilation? Will more expensive casing help on the environment heat as the materials on the expensive ones are better?

Thanks for the responses.

change to better casing with good airflow will be the first thing to do....

dun be surprised if you find your room even hotter, as good case in terms of airflow will dissipate heat out from the case even better ...lol..

water cooling doesnt solve his problem. If heat entrapment is the issue, then i would suggest a better casing. So that hot air does not get distributed all thru the room. ONly through a exit hole on your casing.

And honestly i believe u r only running it stock speed so a better casing would do. Especially the ones with a 120mm exit hole.

wrong, the power consumption for processor is going down from generation to generation.
but it's opposite for graphic card. sweat.gif

Move to air-cond room or open all your windows in the room to let the heat out.

Thanks again for the information.

I'll change my casing to a better one as I asked my friend about the Centurion casing. He's using Centurion casign and almost the same spec with same motherboard as mine and the motherboard is around 42 Celcius which is 8 Celcius lower than mine. He also said that he doesn't sweat a lot.

There is a possiblity that casing can fix the environment heat problems. Good and more expensive casing means better materials for the heat.
