Justice League officially confirmed as the shortest DCEU movie to date

Justice League has been officially confirmed as the shortest movie in the DC Extended Universe to date.

Last month, it was rumoured that the DC team-up movie would clock in around the two-hour mark, with Empire Cinemas later tweeting that it will "officially" run at just under two hours.

We took that with a pinch of salt, but now the BBFC has confirmed that Justice League does indeed run for 119 minutes and 54 seconds, or six seconds short of two hours if you prefer it that way.

That means Justice League is two minutes shorter than the theatrical cut of Suicide Squad, 20 minutes shorter than Wonder Woman, 22 minutes shorter than Man of Steel and 30 minutes shorter than the theatrical cut of Batman v Superman.

Unsurprisingly, Justice League has also been rated 12A like all of those movies, bar Suicide Squad, for "moderate fantasy violence", with the extended description revealing there is "disguised strong language" and "infrequent mild innuendo".

Given that the movie has no less than five superheroes (but, really, six), perhaps it'll be the rare occasion where we actually criticise a DC movie for being too short…

Justice League doesn't exactly have a high bar to clear when it comes to DC movies though, with even Henry Cavill admitting that the DCEU hasn't exactly worked so far. "Even if Marvel didn't exist, we'd struggle," he said.

"Yes, it has made money but it has not been a critical success – it hasn't given everyone that sensation which superheroes should give the viewer," Cavill outlined, adding that Wonder Woman was a "step in the right direction".

Justice League is released in cinemas on November 17.

No, flashpoint is a very bad idea at this point. They need to do flash's origin right first. My choice to direct would be Edgar Wright or Duncan Jones

A Cyborg origin film is a must if they wanna do JL 2 again. Alex Garland would be my choice

Just curious, would you prefer them stick with Cavill as Supes or re-cast him? That is, if they do a MOS2.

News is that he is contracted to play Superman at least one more time but it does not specify whether in a solo movie or part of an ensemble/cameo.
