hi everyone... im a newb to OC but i've read a few guides and threads abt OC-ing S939 rig.....

Currently i have :
Proc : AMD 3000+ Venice core
Mobo : Asus A8N-SLI
RAM : 4x512mb Kingston DDR400 value ram *cheap stuff*
PSU : Cooler Master 450W Real Power


I've tried to find my MAX HTT and CPU speed.....

I managed to run Prime95 for more than 1 hour without failure for settings :

FSB : 297mhz

HTmulti : 3x

CPUmulti : 8x

mem divider : 133 **i dunno wtf is with Asus's mem. divider so im not sure how to use** pls help...

when i got that settings... i tried to find my Max memory speed.... i lowered my FSB back to 200Mhz then mem. divider i set to (400) **i dunno how to set this**....

just i duno how to continue....... the guides from internet are so different....

i only do OC with my ol' Venice for a short time oni ..
but here's what u should know

FSB = in guides to OC an AMD refer these to HTT

MEM Divider = for DDR they are at 133, 266, 400

so .. to find out max mem speed, you should upped ur memory divider to 400Mhz (find sumthing displayed as DRAM Config) and set "1T/2T timing" to 2T

slowly increase ur HTT (FSB) in 5Mhz increment.

do a memtest after each increment ... when u start to see error, that's ur ram limit (u can try to increase vdimm)

PS : a noob guide ... dun blame me, i'm a noob too
