Hi everyone,

Just a quick question if anyone had any problems using Adobe Photoshop CS3 or Adobe Lightroom on their Macbook? Currently my budget is only around less than RM5k so I am thinking of getting either a Macbook or a Dell XPS (both around the same price).

Also anyone know when the new Penrynn Processor Macbooks are arriving in Malaysia?

no problem. Photoshop or CS3 suite is focus on RAM and processor. Just max out the RAM till 4GB. biggrin.gif

i think it is suppose to work with the graphic card for the best peformance.
the normal GMA950 is the one i am typiing on it .
why photoshop CS3 needs more processor and ram .... rahter than graphic card ? sorry for being noob .

it is faster becasue of the OS X architecture .

I don't think the OS X Architecture might play in any role of speeding up the performance, then again I am not too sure about it.

Curious to see the new benchmarks on the Macbook's new processors.

Under Photoshop CS3 extended, there are 3D rendering and imaging.

I have CS3 on my Macbook with CD2Ghz (Core Duo NOT even Core 2 Duo), 2GB Ram with GMA950, no problems whatsoever.

If processor speed is above P4, it's ram and others program running behind that matter most. at least 2GB.
1GB will easy receive error msg as most art work + links eat lots memory.

How come no one asked what type of project he wanna do with CS3? Using integrated graphics to do heavy editing or rendering is still over-demanding for Macbook. However minor editing wont be a problem.

Actually more on combination of Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop with 25mb RAW photo files. Usually each project would be around 1000+ pictures.

well those thing only need more ram. Best is max the ram till 4GB. And seriously, intel X3100 is more than enough. Only 3D application need graphic power.

Look for some benchmarks out there (plenty like ArsTechnica) to get a proper conclusion
