The only way for u to reset the password is to call Nintendo. You have to give your serial number and some other stuff. They have the master reset password.

I do recall reading somewhere over the net, that the Wii has a battery inside that keeps certain informations going even when it's off(like the clock). I suppose taking that out would reset/restore the password back to default, and off. And I also believe that it said that you will lose your current Wii Code, but you'll get a new one I think.. unsure.gif

Anyhoo, I'd suggest going with mypetridish's idea.

i think the only way to reset my password is to call nintendo US sad.gif
i've click on forgot password and even forgot mother's maiden name and they have generate me 8 digit no. 76761517 which if i call them should provide them this number to get a new password.

Mypetridish,

can you help met to call nintendo US and help me to get the password??

i also encounter 1 more problem now..i've tried to play mario striker yesterday and i think my console was half-bricked(just check in another forumer's topic and found this word even i dun understand what it is) so now i cant get into my setting page!! i know the only way is to get Brain Academy to update the console.

Mod edit: Edited.

Sihum's right, there's the battery for game saves, channels and all. Taking that out would be the simplest method. Albeit everything's back to default. but for game saves, VC games, you can always copy those to a SD card 1st.

Er. The wii's built-in storage is a 512mb flash memory. Flash memory does not need power to retain its data.

I haven't opened the wii and looked at the insides myself, but if the system settings are also stored on this flash memory, you're not gonna find any battery in there.

unless the password is stored in the rom that requires lithium battery to store its data, i doubt his method wold work. wii has a 512mb flash meory that requires no battery, im sure the password is stored in there
