well i am trying to get a bass for my band..
we pool for the band of course...
so anyone can recommend a bass wif amp tat is cheap n gud quality???
we r students...
so wont hav much money to spend on it...

budget is how much? 500? 700? 1000?

For real cheap get one of those Chinese ones like "Custom Sound", "Craftsman" or "Pyramid". They feel like firewood strung with bass strings tho, but atleast they're shud be in the RM400 range. They're not "bad" instruments as in unusable. Just not high quality.

For amps, if you guys have a PA system for the band you might wanna try getting some really cheap preamp for the bass (even a distortion pedal will do=) and hooking the bass up to the PA. Usually a 2-speaker PA system will sound better than some 40W bass amp, which you can't hear in a loud band anyway.

If below RM500 go for SX nia.

Second the preamp route, but if you gig, they would usually provide the bass amp. Nonetheless, if you have the cash, get a decent amp.
