i duno playing car sound system 1... using stock waja speakers 'clarion'... my friend reciently wan sell his woofer +amp only RM300... for heavy bass rite?? cuz i like lisen to heavy bass music... can tell me more about it??

yes.... woofer is to boom boom the bass.. normally is placed behind the boot.. and amp is to tarik the power frm ur car's battery and power up the woofer...

a 2-channel amp is enuff to boom a 10" x 2 or 12" x 1 woofer adi

thx alot... hehe... erm its actualy a subwoofer wor... i go n see it d... my friend says need remove the back speaker so that can feel the bass... isit ok?? then left the tweeter n front speaker to do the job... mine stock waja clarion wor... what do you think?? i din fix yet but i try set only front speaker play wif my cd player the sound abit cacat like that...

always good to upgrade ur front speakers first my friend then your woofer...

zzz... i juz fixed the subwoofer... i din remove the back speaker... quite nice... the subwoofer bass nicer than the normal speaker bass... other than that nothing much d... the front 1 i think no need upgrade rite?? cuz its aredy good...

concentrate more on ur front... if u got budget, change to 6.5" component.. ada nama punya brand

yea actually if u play budget, stock speaker also ok.. but remember to do some setting wif ur amp, and cd player..

setting 1: if got LOW/MED/HIGH setting, then the LOW u set lower.. then the bass that come out from speaker will be less.. just vocal sound... that way u can turn on louder volume without having cracking sound frm speaker...
e/g: if ur LOW is 5, then u put volume 30 (or above) got cracking sound.. then turn ur LOW to 0, ur speaker might can support till volume 35? that's wat i've experienced.

setting 2: (wat amp u're using for ur woofer??) as u know, woofer is for bass beat only.. but however, will have some vocal sound c'ming out from it.. if ur amp able to adjust the vocal level c'ming out from woofer, best turn to minimum level

hmm..if youre using your stock speakers then the sub will be overwhelming your sound sys wit a lot of low bass..either power your stock clarion speakers and get a pair of tweeters or get a good component set for your front..then you can enjoy a full spectrum of sound!! welcome to ICE modding!! hehe after this sure you will be playing around with speakers ready..

sub is not always for booming. One can actually tuned it to soft bass and match up with the front for SQ.

Guys, on the topic of subwoofers.

I recently fixed a sub in my car.. i found out the sub no hole to 'let-the-air-out' so to speak.

I tought all woofers are suppose to have a hole?

Maybe thats y i noticed my woofer is producing lotsa "booms" and not so much details.

no, it depends how u wanna play it... some boom them without the hole, some wif the hole.. it will have different effects on different setups..

I want more for SQ more than deep Thump lar..

i notice my woofer got vocals in it....does this mean that the wire man pulled the wires wrongly? isn't it supposed to play only bass?

no... woofer got vocals is normal..
depends on ur amp's capability.. some can reduce the vocal to the least, or even can cancel them... that's the best~

its called a ported enclosure bro,the one with a hole..ported encolsures produce better clarity over a narrow frequency and has better power handling but doesnt boom as much as a sealed enclosure (your current type)
Depending on your sub,some work better in ported some in sealed..depends on your sub spec..mines a sealed enclosure like yours..i like the setup tho



erm yes it is suposed to play only low frequencies..if your sub is producing vocals (mid freq) its gonna K.O very soon as subs are not designed to handle other ranges of frequencies well so it will try to reproduce sounds its not ment to and get destroyed.either use your amp to select your sub out to low freq or get a crossover..
